Yi jia seafood located at top of Taman Mount Austin, is about a 30mins drive from checkpoint. There is ample parking space in front of the restaurant. Staff are friendly here.
Salted Egg crab is their signature dish here. It's a must try here. The sauce was really damn good.
The crab was fresh, but the meat tasted plain, missing that distinct flavour that mud crab has.

There are many types of fresh fishes avaliable and can cook in a varieties of ways.
Decided to have cod fish in black garlic style.
This is the first time I had this black garlic sauce style, and it's damn good.
It's sweetness goes so well with the soy sauce base.
Cod fish was also fresh and easily slides off the bone.
Overall my favourite dish today.

La La was very Fresh and size of the La La quite big.
Chilli very flavourful and not very spicy.
This was so different from what I had so far in Singapore. Yi Jia's rendition had a crunchy crust on the outside while the sotong remained a good bite with the right chewiness. What's their secret? It was as if they added soda water in the batter. 👍 The amount of salted egg taste was on spot. It was not overwhelming and enough to add tastiness to the sotong. 😋
The staff tried to tell us that the smallest portion is for 4 pax but the two hungry girls managed to lick the big bowl clean! Filled with ample amount of shark's fin and crab meat with egg white. From the deep colour, I bet you can tell that the thick soup was super savory. Also, it had a cantonese jinhua ham (金华火腿) taste that resembles the broth at those attas Chinese restaurants. 😍
One of Yi Jia Seafood's signatures would be their Honey Sauce Crab. The crab meat tasted extra sweet and sticky due to the caramelized honey sauce. The crabs were so fresh that the meat came off the shell pretty easily. 😘
