You may have had plenty of Nasi Lemak but have you had its sister dish, Nasi Kukus? Lesser known but tasty nonetheless, the star of the dish is the rice that is steamed individually in aluminium cups.

The result of steaming the rice individually is the fluffy texture you get from each grain of rice. The curry makes sure that the rice grains aren’t too dry and paired really well with the special chilli sauce. Fiery! 🔥

The fried chicken thigh was to shout for as well! It’s huge, thick and juicy and remains crisp even though I dabao-ed this to my friend’s place a short walk away. Each bite was filled with the juicy, tenderness of the chicken thigh that came with lingering notes of its spice rub.

If you ever find yourself in the northern parts of Singapore, why not give this a try? I shall go for the Nasi Dagang next ◡̈

Fried chicken so good, entire skin was almost like a cracker 🥺 despite its fried ass exterior, the chicken inside is tender and juicy afff

Wanted to actually get their Nasi Dagang Trader Rice (Mixed Red & White Rice cooked in Coconut Milk) but it was already out of stock😕. Had to settle for their basic Nasi Kukus Steam Rice with Signature Fried Chicken instead ($5).

Boy oh boy was I impressed with their fried chicken. Fried to perfection, it was crispy on the outside, super tender and juicy on the inside. It was also well-marinated and tasty😋. Do try this if you haven’t!

I wanted to try their nasi dagang, too bad it’s sold out, in the end I tried their signature fried chicken.
The nasi kukus it self not much difference with normal steam rice, but the highlight is The fried chicken.
The fried chicken was moist and tender inside with crispy skin, served with nasi kukus that being poured by curry, half boiled egg, a bit of acar and sambal.
💰$5.

Nice and fragance red rice steamed with coconut milk, comes with curry chicken, boiled egg and belachan. Love their rice but the curry chicken was quite average.
