This is meant to be stewed but here it feels more fried than anything. Nonetheless, the flavours are almost exactly as my grandmother's, which makes it so endearing. The rice had an examplary bite, it's got a slight chew and yet isn't as hard as normal fried rice. The mild umami and the vegetal undertones make this an absolute winner. Good enough to eat on its own, but gentle enough to serve as backdrop to the mains. Their portion are generally small but for some reason this one feeds 4. Only complaint is the pool of oil at the bottom.

I am seriously thinking of coming back for this dish. Must try!

Probably the only blemish of the meal. It's fine on its own but it's not on the same level as anything else we ordered. The sauce was fine and there's crystallisation of the sugar but the pork was tough. It's good pork but overcooked from deep frying, bigger pieces should definitely fair better

One of those dishes where u can't really taste the individual ingredients, it's just a lovable mess. The umami is there but also not over the top, quite a dainty dish and hard to judge for me because the taste profile is so nostalgic. Would encourage everyone to try once though, it's delectable

Date said this was meant to be a cold dish. It's perfect as it is though, because it's served hot and very crispy on the outside. Flaky, somewhat firm flesh that's very good and underlined by a subtle smokiness and sweetness from the sauce.
