Swopped prawns for meat patty
The broth is a cheat lol, it's good but it's closer to tonkotsu in both flavour and texture rather than those clean seafood soups. Ofc it's gonna be satisfying haha
Toman was tender but I guess I just don't like the texture of this fish. They have 2 kinds of meat products, one is meatloaf cut into strips which has amazing flavour probably from fried fish bones, the other is the meat patty which was bouncy but not otherwise too special. Though I asked for them to swop prawns for meat patty, I have no idea if the two patties are more than usual or the strips are more than usual lol.
Nonetheless this place is pretty solid. The price is well justified by the thickness of the soup and the amount of ingredients(ofc the freshness too)
Damn this was good. Light and mildly savoury from the small prawns, with nice pieces of pumpkin for sweetness. It's the opposite of those that appear v yellow but there's no flavour at all

In anticipation of the āNo Dining Inā rule which comes into effect on 16th May for a month, hereās a dish worth adding to your list for takeaway/delivery as it travels well and is immensely satisfy.
The Seafood Soup by #yanjigourmetseafood in the basement of Far East Plaza isnāt something new and many of you probably know about it already but for those who donāt, here is a rich, concentrated and deeply flavourful seafood soup, this is hard to beat. They offer several variations of it, so there is bound to be one that suits you. The Toman Seafood Soup ($14) is one of our preferred but since we donāt like dealing with prawn shells, we always ask for our crustaceans to be swopped out for the housemade meat patties or fish maw. If you arenāt into Toman, thereās Dory, Batang and Grouper too (at different price points of course). The fish slices arenāt that thick but the good thing is they taste fresh. Rice is charged separately at $1 a portion.
Orders can be placed by calling 6369 0988.
The ever so popular Yan Ji Seafood Soup began as a humble hawker stall that has now expanded with 3 branches located in Marsiling Mall, Far East Plaza and Funan.
Every bowl is prepared to order; ensuring each ingredient is cooked perfectly. The robust broth was swimming with fresh prawns, fish, clams, and well-seasoned handmade minced meat. All in all, a hearty seafood soup that i'll definitely be back for.
Large bowl of seafood & dory $10.
Hokkaido scallops & chicken soup base full flavoured, faintly salty too.
Signature prawns & minced pork patty always consistent.
Observed slightly brisk queue at lunch time.
Smiling friendly service.
