With our recent move quite distant from Saboten, we finally got to try Tonkatsu by Ma Maison and it didnāt disappoint
Similar to usual tonkatsu places, they have refillable cabbage, rice, and miso soup, that come with the deep fried pork loin with good meat to fat ratio
Apart from good food, their service is really commendable

4ā We are back at one of our favourite on Monday night for the 20% off. We are lucky as we didnt waited long, those in front of us couldn't be seated as everyone in the same table must turn up before seated. We ordered the 150g set and it looks like the fillet has shrunk in size. The standard remains and we are satisfied with the dinner.

One of the best place to satisfy your katsu craving with free flow of rice, cabbage and tonjiru (miso soup with pork). I enjoyed their jyukkokumai(multi grain rice) as it was light, fluffy and flavourful. Katsu was slightly oiled today and had a bit more fats. This would still be my go to.
Deliciously fried pork, but honestly couldnāt taste the seaweed. The pork was juicy and thick, and really wished the potion was bigger. The miso soup was so flavourful and packed with ingredients, really loved it! Cabbage only had one type of dressing available, roasted sesame. Requested for wafu dressing but waitress didnāt even know what that was, and said I needed to order it from the ala carte menu. The tea jelly for dessert was a surprise and a nice way to end the meal.
The food took a long time to be served, and the number of staff members were more than the customers in stallā¦ Be prepared to wait. Overall, I would say it was pretty worth it given the free flow rice, soup and cabbage.

The pork is crispy with every bite, even with sauce drizzled on it. The miso sauce overpowers the pork, hence couldnāt really enjoy the meat itself. However, the miso soup is amazing even on its own. I recommend taking one spoonful of rice and dipping it into the miso soup. You can really taste that itās not the basic miso soup you can find everywhere else.
