Reviews of good food at Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre

Was famished and wasn't about to settle for a greasy breakfast at the hawker centre. This stall (Perdana Muslim) which was a couple stalls away from Uggli Muffins, served Seafood Hor Fun ($4) at 9.30am! It was prepared fresh and I stood by enthusiastically seeing how my breakfast was made. Verdict: Super shiok!

Tasty lightly salty, soft and tender noodles that bundles with the savoury sauce. To be share or self indulgence.

White and black version. Black is done with dark sweet soy sauce. White is simply without the dark sauce. Both are as yummy as it look.

Egg noodles and bee tai mak version. Classic taste with little chilli and ketchup base. Clear soup for the two bouncy fish balls.

It comes with generous amounts of pork lard for the extra crunch, pork belly and eggs, with the chilli and lime providing slight spiciness and tanginess to the noodles while maintaining its taste!

Good morning people!! Breakfast anyone?? 油条 with Kopi-O, my favourite combi if I'm having dough fritters. Ermmm... Sorry to make the scene looked like we're praying!! 😂😂😂

Good, comforting bowl of congee at $2.50! Flavourful and incredibly smooth. Get a (better) youtiao from You Tiao Man (#02-05) and you will have the best of both worlds.

Hearty fish soup noodles, apparently quite famous here with the queues at mealtimes and it's said you must try the fried mackerel. An old name - pretty good but didn't wow for me though still worth a try. #fishsoup #toapayoh #sghawker

Recently opened stall (02-39) selling bak chor mee. Quite decent, the noodles were savoury with a good bite to it. The large fishballs were fresh and bouncy! Go for the small bowl ($3), the large bowl ($4) with two frozen prawns was not worth it.

Wanted to try Chay Sua but they will open be back after 28 April 😢. But this is not bad, taste like 26 carrot diamond 😁 😁 😁. Waited 20 minutes but no need to queue, auntie wrote down my table number and then brought the plate to me.

Good food need to wait, but not necessarily need to queue for it.

In prep of a good dinner tonight! Hehe 🙊 Really love the homemade wonton and char siew here together with the spinach jade noodles! #burpple

Other than the size of the pau being smaller than usual, I cannot really see the attraction as I found the ingredients quite dry (at least for the kong bak pau and char siew pau). The big pau (which was only big relative to their mini size) was not too dry.

Something I grew up eating. Was at a lost when I came to the hawker centre because I'm was so used to my parents ordering this for me. At least I could differentiate their bowls. I love the thick slices of fish and the amt of seaweed they had! So nostalgic ☺️

I love to eat the ketupat with lots of peanut sauce, shiok!
