Brought my family to Taste Paradise to try their specially curated limited-time seasonal menu that feature a medley of luxurious ingredients such as black fish, black chicken, osmanthus mussel and lobster. Osmanthus mussels are unlike the usual mussels that we are more familiar with. They are softer with a bit of a chew and have an impressively light crunch. The earthiness from the matsutake mushrooms paired with Chinese yam, spring white asparagus, fresh lily bulb petals and their housemade truffle sauce was delicious.

Though the truffle fragrance was stronger than its flavour, we enjoyed how it allowed d the rest of the ingredients to shine better! They use a housemade truffle sauce to fry the rice, topped with sakura shrimps, chopped asparagus and diced fresh mushrooms. On top, there’s chunks of Boston lobster meat.

Limited time new dishes at Taste Paradise as they welcome the Spring season! This was our favourite dish of the night. It’s prepared in Szechuan style, with a gravy packing a comfortable level of heat and numbness. The fish fillets were tender and you’ll find springy potato vermicelli hidden underneath, that soaked up the broth so nicely!

The poached rice is good and definitely better than Yan. We also ordered char siew and crispy duck platter and we are not disappointed. Taste Paradise is considered high end in the Paradise Group but we offset with the $40 voucher to make it more wallet friendly.

💕Baked Live Prawn with Vermicelli in Black and White Pepper.
Its my fav, this dish got strong wok hei, the Vermicelli braised with concentrated chicken broth and crushed pepper, served with juicy fresh prawns.
💕Stir-fried Japanese A4 Wagyu Beef Cube with Spring Onion in Black Pepper sauce.
Stir fried tender A4 waygu beef cubes,with milk spicy black pepper.
💕Poached Rice with Assorted Seafood in Lobster Broth.
Rice served in umami lobsters broth, with scallops and crab meat,topped with crispy rice.
💕Stewed Chicken Claw in Abalone Sauce.
Braised chicken claws with a sauce that made with dried Abalone sauce, chicken stock and jinhua ham.
💕Crispy Golden Tofu.

Stir-fried Japanese A4 Wagyu Beef Cube with Spring Onion in Black Pepper sauce.

The ladies at @brandcellar PR agency kindly organised for me a dinner delivery from their client, Taste Paradise, a stalwart choice for Cantonese Cuisine in Singapore. The Set B for 4 pax ($198) was what I received and it comprised of:

1. 经典XO酱萝卜糕 Classic XO Carrot Cake - I dare say theirs is one of the best renditions I’ve eaten. It is fried with a plentiful amount of egg, beansprouts and “chye por”, and packs a fearless kick of umami spiciness.

2. 鲍鱼焖鸡煲 Braised Abalone and Chicken - The sauce was balanced and tasty, and the chicken, abalone, mushrooms and capsicum were cooked just right.

3. 鲜芦笋炒虾球 Stir-fried Prawns with Asparagus - This dish is a favourite of my family’s and Taste Paradise did it impeccably with very fresh ingredients.

4. 瑶柱蛋白炒饭 Fried Rice with Conpoy and Silken Egg White - After the Classic XO Carrot Cake, this was my second favourite from the spread. Very well fried with a generous amount of egg white, the rice was exceedingly fragrant in “wok hei”.

5. 浓汤浸奶白菜 Poached Chinese Cabbage in Superior Broth - Who wouldn’t appreciate more vegetables, especially when it’s so deliciously cooked.

Food is good as always. Went for the $36.80 set and ordered their dim sum to share. My favourites had to be the steamed Cheong fun with the crispy bits & salted egg, char siew sou and their XO stir fried carrot cake. The angel hair pasta with ebiko and Sakura shrimp which came with the set was good. I could taste truffle in it.

Not sure what to make of their dessert. It was a steamed Liu sha bao with Liu sha oozing out and coconut ice cream with Pulut hitam served on a plate. While the pairing was kind of odd, the dessert tasted good when eaten separately haha. No complaints. Definitely a place worth returning!

$36.80++ and $48++ options also available). Time flies. I first visited Taste Paradise in the Year 2009 when they were at Chinatown, and I declared it to be one of my fav Chinese restaurants. Today, they are at a new location with a new chef, but the food served in the set menu I tried was still good.

These are the dishes in the set menu:
* Combination of Chilled Black Fungus and Jellyfish in Vinaigrette; Crispy Whitebait Tossed with Salt and Pepper; and Crackling Pork Belly (second photo);
* Double-boiled Shredded Shark’s Fin in Shark’s Cartilage Soup. It's very thick and flavourful, as it was cooked for five hours with an array of ingredients such as shark’s cartilage, old chicken, pork, white fungus and chicken feet. I recommend swapping out shark's fins for fish maw, the same soup would be served (third photo);
* Stewed Japanese Kurobuta Pork, house made barbeque sauce (cover photo);
* Poached Chinese Cabbage with Conpoy in Superior Stock (fourth photo);
* Stir-fried Ramen with Lobster in XO Sauce (fifth photo);
* Almond Cream with Peach Resin.

Loved Taste Paradise since I visited them 11 years ago when they were at Chinatown. Food is still good. This lobster ramen is taken when I was having their six course menu, which I'll consolidate and share with you soon.

Each set menu are equally appealing but the $68++ is totally value for money! Dishes include:

The three newly launched individual set menus are priced at $36.80++, $48++ & $68++ per person (min 2 pax), and you can even top up $38++ / pax for wine pairing.

The $68++ menu includes the Stir-fried Ramen with Lobster in XO Sauce, a unique, must-try dish that shows off the chef’s penchant for experimentation. Next is the Stewed Japanese Kurobuta Pork, with house made barbecue sauce permeating every inch of the superbly tender loin meat. The nourishing Double-boiled Shredded Shark’s Fin in Shark’s Cartilage Soup (cooked for 5 hours) and the great appetiser combo of Chilled Black Fungus and Jellyfish in Vinaigrette, Crispy Whitebait tossed with Salt & Pepper, and Crackling Pork Belly are some of the other highlights of this delectable set menu.
