Enjoyed these dumplings! They were packed nicely, with a juicy sweet chicken and shrimp filling. The pops of roe on top gave that needed extra crunch.
Unfortunately a tad too under-seasoned. Texture of the rice was not as fluffy as we would have liked, though we appreciated the generous amount of eggs fried in. This dish is part of Dim Sum Haus’ CNY menu.
Rabbit-shaped puddings to welcome the Rabbit Year! 😂 These are jiggly soft and made of red beans. A little too sweet for my liking, but something children might like. This dish is part of Dim Sum Haus’ CNY menu.
These were lightly pan fried on both sides and the rice cakes were soft and chewy. Was quite a nice snack, though I was hoping for a sweet dip for it to be paired with. This dish is part of Dim Sum Haus’ CNY menu.
One of our table’s favourites was the Crispy Shrimp and Mango Roll. It came piping hot and was done with a thin crispy exterior and a well-sized shrimp.
Dim Sum Haus is ready for CNY with their newly launched CNY menu! Apart from 9 types of noodles, rice and dim sum dishes, there’s also our CNY staple - yu sheng, available for order. Dim Sum Haus does theirs with abalones, and the one here is the big portion suitable for 6-10 pax, while the smaller portion is at $48.80 and feeds 3-5 pax.
This is another dish familiar in last Lunar New Year’s menu, but with an improved recipe. The chicken is marinated with five-spice powder, air-dried and roasted. The meat was tender, but would have preferred much crispier skin. It's served with an in-house chilli sauce made with seven types of Yunnan's chillies and a salt and pepper dry dip which were helpful in elevating the flavours.
Can’t do a CNY meal without yu sheng! Yun Nans’ Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng features shredded white carrot adorably shaped as a rabbit and plump whole abalones. The plum sauce used leaned a little more tangy than we usually prefer.
This crowd favourite returns to Yun Nans’ CNY menu again this year! The golden broth base is slowly stewed for 6 hours, and further topped with 11 auspicious ingredients of roast pork belly, bamboo pith, sea cucumber, abalone, scallops, prawns, mushrooms, fish maw, cordyceps flowers, yam and Chinese cabbage. The comforting, luxurious savoury broth kept us going for more! Loved how it’s not overly salty - we even dabao-ed the leftover broth and made soup noodles at home, yum!
A comforting lunch we had while working from home last week - Soup Restaurant’s Buddy Meal for 2 pax!

The classic Traditional Boiled Soup of the Day and Seasonal Vegetables are fixed items in the set, but you can choose the rice dishes to your preference. We went with the Earthern Bowl Steamed Rice with Chicken and Chinese Sausage and couldn’t miss out on their Earthern Bowl Steamed Rice with Chicken & Samsui Ginger! We liked the option of getting these smaller portions and that it’s convenient too via Deliveroo - our food came piping hot yay! The chicken chunks were tender and well seasoned.
This was another comforting number following the other soup dish, the Collagen Soup with Fish Maw and Bamboo Pith. The luffa is meticulously hand sliced into noodle-like strips and served in collagen soup with fried shredded conpoy, Jin Hua ham and Sakura ebi. It’s not as rich as compared to the fish maw soup, but it was still a very enjoyable one. The smart addition of crispy Sakura ebi gave extra texture and flavour to tie the dish together. If to nitpick, I would have liked a touch bit more of the ebi added in!
JUMBO Seafood’s award-winning chilli crabs don’t need further introduction, but what’s different here at JUMBO Signatures, is that they thoughtfully deshelled the crab pincer for you - the crab meat was firm, plump and sweet. Their chilli crab sauce is made with 10 over spices, accumulating to a good heat. Shiok to have especially with the crispy fried mantou!
