Located in a hidden spot of level 2 of Sim Lim Square, I was surprised to find Taste Good in the well-known IT mall. The outlet was packed during lunch time, with dine-in area spread over 2 units. The outlet offered affordable priced zhi char dishes.

From the menu of signature dishes, we tried
Salted Egg Chicken with Rice (S$7.80/ with fried egg)
Butter Pork Ribs with Rice (S$7.80/ with fried egg)
Spicy Lemongrass Fish with Rice (S$7.80/ with fried egg)
Crispy Cereal Fish with Rice (S$8.30/ with fried egg)

Accompanied with
Old Cucumber with Pork Ribs Soup 老黄瓜排骨汤 (S$6)
(S$2.90/ iced)
(S$2.90/ iced)
Milo 美禄 (S$2.10/ iced)
Honey Lemon 柠檬蜜 (S$2.20/ iced)

My favourite dish of the meal was Crispy Cereal Fish with Rice. Pieces of fried fish topped sweet and savoury floss. So interesting! The 3 Layered Tea was in 3 distinct layers - gula melaka syrup, milk, and tea. Mixed together it gave a rich and creamy taste.

Many years back, everyone was talking about salted egg as it was one of the trendiest flavours to have been introduced into our diet. Will it go away? Probably not. The trend now might not hit the highest of highs as compared to the past but how I see it is that salted egg has become a staple in many of our dishes be it in zichar or western fusion, and many of us will subconsciously order it for a flavour that is familiar and comforting.
