Each roll for $20 before GST
*Burpple have a different menu for these rolls*

4⭐️/5 Deep Fried Roll
Cripsy outer layer with deep fried ebi. Lots of elements and flavours in this maki roll. People who don’t eat raw fish, can definitely try this.

4⭐️/5 Salmon Teriyaki Roll
Very saucy, very nice. Main highlight is the collaboration of the avocado, aburi salmon and the spicy mayo that elevates the maki roll.

Decided to pop by to try Takeshi-san as I remembered seeing quite a bit of publicity on it on social media. Plus, Burpple has a 1-for-1 sushi roll deal here so why not.

They have a $5 drinks for Happy Hour 5-7pm daily as well as all-day $5/$6/$8 bar bites so we started of with those. We had the Umeshu, Suntory Highball, and the Lime Sui Gin Soda for drinks which were pretty okay for their price. As for sides, the Mozarella Sticks were lightly-battered with a nice cheese pull, made even better by the accompanying spicy sauce. Chawanmushi and Crispy Salmon Skin weren't worth it, can skip.

Now for the Burpple Sushi Rolls, you have a separate menu of 4 sushi rolls to choose from. We had the Spicy Tuna Roll and Salmon Teriyaki Roll. Honestly, nothing much to shout about; just average and I'm pretty sure they were specifically made to be costed at $10 each, otherwise I don't think it's worth $20.

We also ordered the Garlic Fried Rice with Wagyu Cubes. Fried rice was nice, lots of garlic flavours within, but there were clumps of plain white rice scattered throughout. Wagyu cubes were so-so and just forgettable - not what I would've expected from wagyu.

Furthermore, our wagyu fried rice took so long to arrive and when we got the staff to check, she told us that it was sent to the wrong table by mistake. Did no one realise or said anything? Welps, at last they gave a 30% discount for the wait time.

Overall, don't think I would return.

Managed to get 1 for 1 with burpple beyond! There were 8 pieces of salmon sushi enclosed with tempura bits and cucumber, topped with teriyaki sauce. I enjoyed the crunch and texture from the tempura bits and cucumber, while the salmon was soft and fresh. You can choose from 4 different rolls for the burpple deal, and enjoy live singing!

Taste & texture : Average !

Would recommend tuna one for a try :) it has chunks of crab meat, fried flour pieces on top of tuna sushi rolls

Found this place thanks to Burpple Premium! They have a fixed selection for the burpple deal so we went for the Spicy Tuna and Salmon Teriyaki. $20 for both thanks to the deal. Place wasn’t crowded on a weekday and the ambience was comfortable to chat without raising your voice.

So Denny decided to satisfy my tummy at Takeshi-San today. Ordered 1-1 sushi roll : Salmon maki & tempura lobster maki. I love salmon sashimi so I have to get this to try and it didn’t disappoint! In fact it was so good! There were an abundance of ingredients and toppings and the salmon was nicely charred while the tempura maki was not overly deep fried.

We also got Wagyu saikoro cube steak as sides and we can’t stop praising how tender and juicy these beef are! Really enjoyed all the dishes and would 100% recommend
