Creme Brulle with an Asian twist
.
Using cempedak custard and topped with cempedak slices.
.
The sugar crust was a bit of a let down even though it's one of the few restaurants that use actual cempedak custard and actual cemepdak flesh
I personally LOVE kway teow that is of wet consistency —makes slurping so easy. Decided to try Penang Char Kway Teow ($6.90) and it tasted delicious! But I should have asked for less chilli because I could barely eat half from this odd-shaped plate since it got really spicy after a while. Still, I love that it comes with a lime since I really appreciate anything spritzed with citrusy lime!
[Halal] The ganache filling of the Red Velvet Molten Lava cake didn’t flow, the taste was sweet, but disappointingly one-dimensional. This is nowhere close to being worth the money. The only things that kept this dessert afloat were its presentation and that it was at least palatable. That’s all I’ll say about this folks! 🤧 (4.5/10)
Hubster ate all the rice and beef slices, leaving none. for. me. All I got was a taste of the sweet and spicy 'merah' sauce which is really good. Shall order this next time, then 'forget' to share it.
I'm not really a steak person, but I do have a weakness for the super savoury garlic mushroom ribeye from Spize. Plus a double scoop of mashed potatoes? Yaaasss plz.
The fried chicken's skin has right amount of crisp, white, tender and juicy meat, drizzled with sweet sauce over the chicken. Fragrant and flavourful fried makes a wonderful pairing with the chicken. Topped off with the tangy and sweet chilli sauce at $6.50, I'd be coming back for more! Seems like its a favourite w the customers there too.
Portions are rather big, fit for 2 girls 😋
Standards and taste are a bit inconsistent however.
