An all-time favourite. It rarely goes wrong - it didn't here.

A strange dish to find at Soi 19, but given I like innovation, I tried. It tasted exactly how you would imagine it lor.

Iโ€™ve always been a fan of the dry version, but decided to give this soupy version a try nonetheless! It tastes similar to the dry one and same ingredients as well. Nothing wrong with this, though I still prefer the dry one personally ๐Ÿ˜›

We also ordered a side of Chicken Wings ($6.50, six pieces). Do not be deceived by their scrawny appearance, for they were surprisingly meaty and juicy, with deliciously crispy skin. Seasoned with plain old salt and pepper, they were astoundingly alluring. An excellent side dish to pair with the noodles!

Next time you're craving for some Thai-style wanton mee, you know where to go.

How does Thai-style wanton mee differ from our local version? Tbh I'm not very sure, but I believe the former adds fish sauce that's ubiquitous in all Thai dishes. Soi 19 is probably the most famous Thai-style wanton mee exponent on our shores, having expanded to four outlets.

Their ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ถ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ comes in three sizes: Regular $5.30, Large $6.30 and Jumbo $7.30. Our Large bowl had two fried wanton, some thinly-sliced char siew, pork sausage slices and vegetables with springy egg noodles. Two boiled wanton are also served in a bowl of soup.

We liked the peppery profile of the soup and wanton (both types), with the crispy fried wanton particularly palatable. The noodles weren't dressed in any sauces and were simply garnished with oil. We couldn't detect any fish sauce and found them a bit too dry. The char siew was decent and the pork sausages carried a nice honey flavour.
