Compared to the erect confidence of the towering bingsus from most other joints, this contender looked majorly flaccid and lethargic. The mangoes tasted like they have led rather fruitful long lives, while the milk ice positively showered me with unadulterated love from Mummy Cow’s bosom even sans condensed milk. I wasn’t particularly keen on the cloying mango sauce, which was insistent and pushy with its mango agenda without being naturally equipped for it. 3/5

Snowy Village is the latest addition to the bingsu family in our sunny little island. Housed within DECK, a trendy independent art space made out of refurbished containers, Snowy Village’s menu sees a well-curated selection of toasts, waffles and bingsus, as well as savoury items like Drug Corn (Korean buttered corn sprinkled with chilli and cheese!). Chocoholics will love the Chocoreo Snowy Bingsu ($13.90) made up of shaved chocolate milk topped with chocolate ice cream, Oreo crumbs, Pepero White Cookie sticks and chocolate sprinkles.

Within an shipping container designed exhibition space dedicated to showcase local artworks, is a see-through shipping container that houses a new Korean bingsu place that sells bingsus, toasts, sides and drinks! This Strawberry Bingsoo ($14.50) comes with plenty of sliced strawberries that tasted more sour than sweet, with the shaved ice being quite refined yet tasting milky at the same time!
