Pineapple jam with tonic water & espresso; bitter sweet taste with citrusy note; refreshing & unique..
Cake is soft & moist; filled with cream & genmaicha paste; topped with fresh peach; taste nothing special but would prefer more peach to go with it..
Sourdough is soft at centre with flaky & crispy crust outside; topped with a layer of soft spinach & crunchy mushroom; chicken fillet is tender; cream sauce is tad too rich for my liking; came with a green lemon wedge to cut through the richness of the sauce..
Butter brioche is soft & fluffy; came with a spring onion scrambled egg; sesame chicken is fragrant & tasted homely, with canned button mushroom; served with fresh garden greens at the side..
It's pricey but an entire ripe peach on a baked tart ($15) is pretty darn satisfying to chomp down on. Though I don’t really care for the glaze, the fruit was sweet, tender and juicy. The fragrant frangipane(?) tart was also wonderfully executed (not overly dry or moist with lovely crunchy edges) and the airy, smooth cream held everything together with a light milky aroma. The Lemon Wintermelon ($6.50) was yummy too - very tangy!
Went to Simple Cafe 2 weeks ago and ordered their Iced White ($6) and an Iced Uji Matcha Latte ($6.50)! Overall ratings 7/10! Drinks were okay, I preferred the Iced White over the Iced Matcha🤣 Ambience was nice and cozy too! Would recommend visiting if you want a peaceful weekend cafe to chat😁
