This restaurant is located at a very convenient location, and also has a very nice ambience. The food are very good, especially this unagi tempura is nicely fried, so juicy yet not dry. Personally can finish a dish per person. Recommended.
Awesome food and great service, ordered the mackerel and the cod, dishes were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Definitely will be back!
The place was situated at a convenient location. The food was great, super tender and juicy. I recommend trying the fish, it should definitely be on your list of to- try! The atmosphere was nice and is definitely a great place for gatherings.
Everything we order were to our liking. Even the squid that’s mixed with wasabi was unexpectedly tasty. The mentaiko sauce in the potato noodles was hugely generous. The deep fried scallop was delicious too. Really enjoyed the meal, will definitely be back again.
What stood out the most was definitely the Miso Black Cod. It was well-grilled and perfectly seasoned! Their pork skewers were also very well executed. Would visit again just for both of them!
The food at Shukuu Izakaya Bar was fantastic, with the cod fish and pork skewer standing out as highlights—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The other dishes, like the eggplant, spicy salmon don, and oden, were also delicious, making for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The meal was on the pricier side but worth it!
came across this cozy izakaya on a saturday night and the vibes were great. Interior was full of character with all the sake bottles lined up, made the experience feel pretty authentic. Highlights were definitely the pork jowl and beef don. Skewers are also good to pair on a drinking night. Will be back!
I had a great meal at **ShuKuu Izakaya & Sake Bar**, where every dish delivered on flavor and texture. The beef tongue was tender yet satisfyingly chewy, with a smoky char that paired well with an onsen egg . The garlic fried rice was fragrant and packed with umami, perfectly balancing richness and fluffiness. The grilled gizzard had a pleasant bite, while the chicken hearts were chewy and full of deep, meaty flavor. One of the most refreshing dishes was the fresh octopus in wasabi sauce—briny and slightly chewy, with a sharp wasabi kick that kept things exciting. Overall, it was an authentic and well-executed izakaya experience, and I’d definitely return for more.
food came right after ordering, had ice ocha which was refreshing, kani gratin was super delicious and ordered twice and gyu don, the beef was soft and a tad chewy and the rice was fragrant and soft and the sauce blended beautifully!
Had the gyu ponzu, garlic fried rice and the kani gratin, love the flavor of the gyu ponzu and the kani gratin, service was fast and efficient, food came out quick as well, overall will be back👍🏻
Visited Shukuu Izakaya with my partner after seeing it on TikTok! The atmosphere was really nice, and mimicked an Izakaya bar in Japan.
Both of our favourites was definitely the Gindara Misoyaki, which is on the seasonal dinner menu. The fish tasted really fresh and also was well marinated! The kushiyaki are also also a must-try, we got the Chicken Thigh in Shin, and the Pork Belly in Tare.
Hearty bowl of juicy and tender beef well-marinated in a savory sauce that coated the fluffy rice
Reimagined CNY classic dish with a Japanese twist. Think usual fresh greens tossed with premium and thick cuts of hamachi, applewood smoked salmon, and crispy fried fish skin, paired with a slightly tangy apple plum vinaigrette. P.S Yu Sheng is available until 12 Feb via preorder!
Dining at Shukuu Izakaya brought me back to Japan as I indulged in a fantastic Japanese feast! The Oden was a delightful start, with a savory broth and tender ingredients. The Sashimi was incredibly fresh, while the Garlic Fried Rice was flavorful and addictive. The oysters were done super well too! The Ebi Tempura was crispy perfection, and the Wasabi Octopus added a delightful kick. Will definitely go back for more!
Had dinner at Shukuu.
Highly impressed with its fresh and thick-cut sashimi (salmon, yellowtail, and bluefin tuna). The comforting oden featured a rich broth and perfectly simmered ingredients, while the garlic fried rice was fragrant, fluffy, and well-seasoned. The ebi tempura stood out for its light, crispy batter and succulent prawns. A highlight was the oyster cooked in sake, blending briny sweetness with umami depth. With its balance of authenticity and skillful execution, this spot is a must-visit for lovers of Japanese cuisine.
Visited this place for a weekend dinner and loved how cozy the restaurant was, great for date night or casual dinner! Personally, I enjoyed how refreshing the tako wasabi was — wasabi was strong but not overpowering and the octopus bits had a good crunch, adding a nice texture to the dish.
Tried their mini don series too, spicy salmon don was fresh and creamy and for the gyu-don, the beef was well flavoured.
Their chicken karaage was crispy and very juicy on the inside, a must try when you visit!
This cozy restaurant is a frequent hangout spot for me. The Tori Karaage is a must-try, crispy yet juicy on the inside. They also have an affordable Mini Don series and great-tasting alcohol. Love the flavors and the warm ambiance here.
nice chill ambience. everything we got was a hit! ordered the rosti mentai, kani gratin, akagi udon, tempura set, oden. tempura batter was nice and crispy, didnt feel too oily at all.
Checked out this place recently, and the food didn’t disappoint. The gyudon was on point—beef slices were super tender, and the sauce was spot-on, soaking into the rice for that perfect bite.
The real star for me, though, was the spicy salmon don. The salmon was fresh, and the creamy, the seaweed topping and seasoning added so much flavour. It felt indulgent but not too heavy—definitely a must-try!
Portions were generous, and everything hit the spot. Solid comfort food that’s worth coming back for.
Dropped by this cozy izakaya in the CBD for dinner the other night. Ordered a mix of udon, gyudon, and grilled squid, and everything was pretty satisfying. The grilled squid stole the show—it was tender, cooked just right, and had a nice natural sweetness. The gyudon was flavorful and well-made. The udon was decent but unique—thinner and flatter than the usual—best enjoyed with additional sides. Would recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed dinner spot with friends or a casual date night vibe.
