Added an egg (+$2.50) which is quite expensive but it's so good😭the yolk is perfect, slightly flowy & orangey! Sundried tomatoes are tangy & sweet, broth is so flavourful 💯

Big juicy portobello topped with assorted minced vegetables & stretchy cheese! The potato side salad is yummy too & salad is refreshing 😋

Thin sourdough pizza, unique with their homemade tom yum paste with assorted capsicum & sweet pineapple cubes!👍🏻

Changed burger buns to sourdough, onion rings & raw salad for sides. Onion rings is sooo good, well seasoned batter & super crispy but was quite oily for me. Way better than those from fast food chains that has more batter & non existent onions, could rly see the onions inside! Based on the description, there's paneer in the patty but I don't taste any😂 it's a healthy & moist homemade patty made with lots of vegs tho! 😋 There's jalapeño & pappadum sandwiched in between too, quite a unique burger

Sour & spicy soup with lots of different vegs, mushrooms & pineapple! Not so oily like usual tom yum too👍🏻

Super comforting bowl, perfect for a light meal. Dumpling is generously filled with over 10 kinds of vegetables in thin dumpling skin. Soup is light tasting & not too salty. Carrot is so sweet!

Turmeric taste, smell & even the colour was super strong that day, quite different from when I tried last time. Order if you're okay with strong turmeric taste, I could alr smell it when staff brought the dish😂 I liked that it has alot of ingredients & it's brown rice too, topped with nutritional yeast for the cheesy taste.

Chose country sourdough instead of sourdough burger buns. Can tell their sourdough is of high quality, have the slight sourness & it's nicely toasted, chewy & soft in the middle part. Homemade beetroot patty is rly natural, made with beetroot, potato, carrot, onion & millet. Super healthy & yummy choice😋Includes choice of 2 sides, got the batter-dipped fried cauliflower & fresh green salad. The cauliflower must get💯👍🏻 super crispy well seasoned batter, so flavourful & soft inside without being too oily as well.

Deeply enjoyed this Tumeric & Mushroom 'Risotto', it was so rich and creamy in it's tumeric flavours, having a crunchy tint to its rice, and filled with everything nutritious: capsicum bits, mushrooms, corn. Also cooked together with Kombu broth and soy.

Preparing the dish took them some time (30mins) but I daresay it's well worth it. In a well lit and broad space that elevates the dining experience -$12.80

Relaxing ambience with lots of natural light, in a quiet corner of Orchard Central. Enjoyed the Baked Penne and Stuffed Veggie 🌱

[ Vegetarian Food Review ] A certain someone and I have been trying to incorporate more vegetarian fare into our diets — yes, me, voluntarily eating vegetables, and no, it’s not a parallel dimension — and since we had errands to run in town, figured there’s no better opportunity to finally dine at Real Food in Orchard Central. (Don’t worry, this was weeks ago before the rise in cases!)

Real Food has been a relatively popular brand amongst the local vegetarian circle. The food is quite reminiscent of 2nd-tier Chinese cities’ take on Western fusion (except with a hint of local flavours too), where traditional ingredients are made into much lighter, and more carefully curated profiles to fit the mindful diner. While such culinary style can get monotonous quickly without variations in taste intensity, it’s great for someone watching their diet.

By the time we arrived, it was past 8pm. But even then, we just managed to snag the last non-bar seats available. Unfortunately, our luck did not hold — most items were long gone, and after a good 20 mins of back-and-forth with the kitchen, we finally managed to cobble together an order. Welp.

Perhaps we were a little oversold by our peers, but neither of us found the food particularly memorable. So much so that it took me weeks to consider posting this because of how sparse my taste memory is!

The best item of the night was their Steamed Dumplings ($10.80). The little garden each morsel contained was vibrant in taste and texture, and the tamari really added a whole new dimension to the dish.

My main of Organic ‘Belachan’ Fried Rice ($10.80) fared pretty well too, with the substitute of fermented soy for dried shrimp doing a pretty good job of evoking a piquant fragrance not unlike belachan. Unfortunately, the entire thing was so oily I couldn’t get past more than half of it.

A certain someone’s Cheesy Miso Tofu ($15.80) wasn’t great, and didn’t leave much of an impression either. The batter-dipped fried cauliflower on the other hand, was utterly inedible: the poor florets were tarred in a thick layer of unseasoned, and oddly limp batter. Never again.

- Dumpling Soup🥟
- Fried Spring Rolls🫔

Wanted a light dinner and went for their dumpling soup. Lightly seasoned clear soup, with carrots and veg (Xiao Bai Cai I think), feel and taste healthy~

The dumpling consist of well-seasoned mushrooms, carrot, beancurd, turnips, etc, quite tasty and surprisingly filling.

And mind you, it’s just 111.3kcal, for those who are watching their calories intake, this is for you!

As for the fried spring rolls, find it like a replicate of their dumpling, just that I could taste the black fungus and vermicelli (or I tot there was). I prefer their fried spring rolls though, maybe cos it’s fried stuff~

Oh, of cos, the calories is higher (i.e. 198.3kcal), but still lower than a pack of potato chips correct or not~

One of the to-go place for vegetarian option, will definitely be back again~

Damage: $19.42 incl of svc charge & GST

Black bean patty with guacamole, onion tomato and baby spinach. Choice of two side, I picked onion rings and salad. Patty combination was tasty albeit not in the least bit spicy since it was ‘curried’. Restaurant tucked in a quiet corner of orchard central and has a nice view of the little garden on Killney road. Excellent place to sit in the rains.

Dish: Nothing special in the dish but it does check out on all elements of an aglio olio. Considering the price it wasn't so bad.

Place: but, I had issues with the place. It's not easy to book it online and they never answer the phone. The place is too big and understaffed. It took us 40 min to get water on the table which I had to bring myself from the counter in the end. Their iced latte was the worst I've ever had. How can anyone go wrong with Iced Latte? They charge $1-$2 for tap water and no one mentioned any charity etc, which is a more common reason for charging for regular water.

Deep fried portobello mushroom burger served with 2 sides of your choice. The mushroom was nicely crisp and didnt feel oily. Other dishes here are pretty good as well! Great place for vegan alternatives!

Some of the special items on the menu that exclusive to this place are their all day breakfast like this one.

Expecting a totally different of big breakfast that only comes with the salad, vegetables, bread, garlic ring and 2 sunny eggs.

This place do serves some of their items with egg, do let them know if you don’t want so they will replace it with something else. $14.80++

Wasn'y expecting the food to be this good! Mushroom aglio olio was good though it will be better if it were a bit spicier, the pomodoro crust pasta was ok perhaps can skip this. The steamed dumplings were really good! Will be back to try more dishes!

Easily one of the best dumpling soups I’ve had. Highly recommended if you’re craving for some comfort food, especially on a cold, rainy day.

One of my fave vegan dinner spots - the fried dumplings are always a must-order. Good for sharing and doesn’t feel as sinful for some reason! Be prepared for a long waiting time though...
