Queensway Lau Tan Tutu Kueh (ION Orchard)

Be careful! This comes out piping hot. You get to watch them make your tutu kueh on the spot. On the whole, it was a nice snack. Not too dry with just the right amount of peanut.

Lau Tan Tutu Kueh is est. since 1949 and as a heritage eats fan, we simply can't miss it. Remember to eat this type of Kueh while it's still hot! We ordered coconut filling instead of peanut ones. (3 pcs for $3)🤓

Must admit that we had a better version of Tutu Kueh elsewhere.🤔 We find the flour is slightly dense although we enjoy generous & not so sweet filling. The convenient location of ion Orchard & pink rose color skin make this quite a lovely treat nonetheless!

Despite the huge printout of its newspaper feature which loudly touts their famous traditional tutu kueh, these pink rose ones fell short of expectations. First of all, the tutu kueh-maker running the cart confessed that the pink was merely colouring. Secondly, the flour was annoyingly dense and overly sweet, sticking to the crevices of my teeth with each chew. The only redeeming feature was the peanut filling 😢
