Paris Baguette
So for almost every Paris Baguette review I've done, I've bashed them for having such overpriced and tiny bread...π well I can finally say that I've found a bread by them that I'd actually deem WORTH the price! While most breads I've had from them are super basic in concept, THIS is a bread that has some creativity and novelty!
This bread has a sweet peanut crumble on top, a layer of glutinous rice embedded within each bread slice, jam and butter. Super unique and you probably can't find a bread like this anywhere else in sg!
The peanut crumble is really lovely, giving the bread a bit of added crunch and nutty fragrance. The jam is sweet and the butter is buttery (how else to describe lol). The flavours all come together super well! The bread is really chewy and definitely on the harder side.
The main issue with this bread would be the glutinous layers and the butter. When eaten cold (like it's meant to be eaten I assume), the glutinous layer is kinda tough and unpleasant in terms of texture. It only softens up and becomes nicely chewy when heated. However, when heated, this causes the butter to melt so it becomes a bit troublesome. Besides that though, this is a really great and unique bread invention and this is the kind of innovation I'd expect for a bread that costs $2.70!
Definitely the best bread I've had from PB and the only that I find to be worth the price tag so do try it out! I'd recommend toasting the bread to make it warm, crispy and not overly tough, and maybe take out the butter first then put it back (unless you prefer melted butter).

I loooove bolo-type buns with the cookies on top. And I've never seen a cookie bun that had peanuts, aka one of my lovesπ
Unfortunately, this bun isn't filled but imagine how incredible it would be if it had an additional layer of peanut butter. I mean π©π© but let's not indulge in that fantasy for now and look at the bread that it's sold as.
The peanut crumble basically tasted like a polo cookie, except with chopped peanuts and it was slightly less sweet. Really solid crumble.
The big disappointment (other than how empty the bun is) was the bread itself because it was dryyyyyy. Popeyes just called, they want their biscuits back. I won't fault Paris Baguette entirely for the dryness because some polo breads are generally dry, but those breads usually have a buttery base and this bread was just... Bread.
If the bread was a little more moist or, idk, had something a little extra like butter or filling, it'd probably be a lot better. I think it's originally $2.60 or something which is grossly over-priced.

Paris Baguette(@parisbaguette_sg ) Cake which my friend brought was super good too. Thick, creamy and not jelak at all. Sponge base with light and airy cream. Love the cute design.
