From the Burpple community

the bun had a thin buttery crust on the top which gave a nice fragrant crunch when bitten into. its salted egg filling was warm and oozy, enough to last through the whole soft bun!

Tons of choices at wallet-friendly prices at this bakery next to Kent Ridge MRT. Itโ€™s quite a challenge deciding what to order (especially because theyโ€™ve got both sweet potato and pumpkin buns!). Decided to go with the sweet potato one first as it was prettier. With purple hued bread browned on the outside with almonds stuck on top encasing a vibrant orange sweet potato filling, I love the colours of this sweet potato bun.

My first bite didnโ€™t yield such a great impression. It reeked of yeast, but after trying it again later on, I found I enjoyed it a lot more. The bread here isnโ€™t the softest, itโ€™s a bit dry and dense, but theyโ€™re generous with the moist sweet potato filling which counters the dryness of the bun. I also appreciated the crunchy almond slices, which added not only some crunchiness to the bun, but also some nutty flavours. Iโ€™m not too sure why the flavours tasted so off for me when I first bit into the bun, but it was a yummy bun after all! Probably will not buy again since there are so many other flavours worth trying first though.

Was having some major red bean craving so I just bought this from the nearest bakery from school and to my biggest surprise, the bun is filled with whole, chunky red beans and not the cheap kind of paste! A little expensive at $1.80, but I'm cool with it considering that whole red beans are given ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Peanut butter lovers, you wouldn't want to give this a miss! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The bun to filling ratio is just right, any less filling would be too stingy on their part and any more would end up being too 'gelat'. It's best to eat this when it's fresh out from the oven, or if you're buying this home, try placing it in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds - the peanut butter will end up being all warm and flowy ๐Ÿ˜

Do note that the price of this bun is not standardised (as well as all other buns/cakes/bread sold at Bakery Cuisine) as I've seen other Bakery Cuisine outlets selling it at $1.80 as well :)
