Premium Ambeng - The party platter, which is good for three, comes lavished with fix-ins of beef rendang, chicken curry, bergedil, sambal goreng, and more.

I was impressed with the beef rendang which was tender as the meat easily pulled apart, and the flavour was greatly enhanced by the spices, seasoning and hours of stewing work. The begedil was nicely seasoned and fried but a bit too dense as compared to others; while the vegetables and sambal tahu tempe were pretty average. Overall a tad too pricey at $9.30 though the beef rendang was really sedap!

Located in the rather new Aperia Mall, Level 2!

It gets pretty crowded during lunch time, featuring a snaking queue. However, the queue moves fast! You'll order first, make payment and can scoop 3 different types of chilli at the end of it.

The chili pastes were all sedapp! They're packed with a punch of spicy kick, along with mild sweetness. The curry drizzled over my rice was rich and has that slight alluring scent of coconut milk. The chicken comes in a huge piece! Together with another vege, this plate of nasi padang is yours for $6. Given the airconditioned and clean environment, i would say that prices here are quite reasonable!

Do give it a try if you work around the area!

Located close to our office, decided to give this popular lunch venue a go to see what the fuss is about. They offer a canteen style ordering system where you point to the items you want and they will add it to your base item of rice or noodles. I paid about $7 for rice with mutton curry, vegetables and a fried egg. Slightly pricier than the normal lunch, but the curry was not bad... again not the best you will have, but it does the job.

Tasty and very spicy beef rendang. I would say this would be quite satisfying even for Indonesian people looking for beef rendang here in Singapore. With the potato and a vegetable, the plate costs $7.20, a reasonable price for nasi padang.
