First up was their Breakfast Sando ($19). Think big breakfast in a sandwich-smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, avo, cheddar cheese & chipotle mayo. The combination was simple but hit all the right notes. The creaminess from the eggs & avo paired with the saltiness of the bacon & cheddar was well-balanced with the chipotle cutting through it, making it easy to go in for the next time.

On the heavier side, we had the Truffle Mushroom Sando ($18). The basic brunch person in me wanted the truffle mushrooms with hash & that's what I got-hash browns, mushrooms, truffle aioli, Mozz & scrambled eggs. Instead of a full on truffle oil drizzle, the truffle aioli added a nice touch, making the sandwich light yet flavourful without the overpowering truffle smell or taste. Overall, it was a decent sandwich which hit all the right spots for me.

On the side, we ordered their Dirty Tater Tots ($12) to share, thinking the sandos were small (huge regret). Their version of dirty comes with a topping of chicken floss, preserved radish (cai poh) & sambal mayo. While it sounds like a strange combination, the flavours goes surprisingly well together!

Musette is a spanking minimalist, bicycle-friendly cafe hidden in an office building. The irony is that car showrooms populate the entire road.

The breakfast menu features sandwiches, pancakes, a granola bowl and an aรงai bowl in addition to the Build Your Own Breakfast option. The ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ผ ($19) was my choice.

Generous portions of smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and chipotle sauce were stuffed between lightly toasted bread. The combination worked wonderfully, and even though it got messy with the contents dripping down my fingers, the sandwich was stupendously scrumptious.

I also liked the ๐—™๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ ($6) for its medium-bodied robustness. I was impressed with the food and ambiance at @musette.sg and would definitely return.

๐Ÿฐ Kaya Butter Roll Cake

Part 2 of my Musette review, check out my feed for my review on the Mushroom Orzo Pasta and Dirty Tater Tots because I poured my heart out into that post. Anyways. Once dessert rolled around, the hole in my heart that had been left by the Boy had been semi-filled with delicious savoury mains. The only thing left was to fill the remaining gaps with dessert, which is exactly what I did.

This kaya butter roll cake is made by Musette's in-house bakery, Kobo by Melissa, and its filled with fragrant kaya and a block of butter. Im sitting in the mrt writing this review and the kid opposite me is staring at me. If only the Boy would stare at me like that. If only. The kaya is suuuper aromatic and quite sweet, while the pandan cake is soft and fluffy.

I liked the idea of putting butter into the cake to replicate a traditional kaya butter toast, but it doesn't work because once I reached that part of the cake, it was just mouthful after mouthful of butter. I love butter as much as the next girl but I'm not American so the idea of eating whole butter on its own ain't appealing. Did I still devour the whole block of butter in one sitting? Yes. Don't question an emo girl going through an emo heartbreak.

Overall quite pricey but itd be better if the butter was more well distributed.

Tater tots aren't anything new to most of us, but what makes these tots different is the fact that they're covered in chicken floss, preserved radishes and sambal mayo. When I say they're covered, I mean they're COVERED. These tots are as dirty as my perverse virgin mind. We love the generosity! If only he'd be as generous with his attention towards me. The tots are really crispy and the other elements are super savoury and delicious. Is it pricey? Yes. Did i still devour the whole plate while shedding tears over my non-existent love life? Yes.
