Treat your fam to a fantastic dinner at this hidden gem in Sri Hartamas. Look forward to fresh meats with just the right amount of fat โ perfect for grilling! Order the Sirloin (RM32), Lamb Short Rib (RM32) and Salmon (RM28), or if you feel like splurging, go for the Kobe Beef (RM185) or the Alaska Crab (RM55). Be sure to ask for extra dipping sauce โ the miso-special homemade paste is to die for. Pro tip: They are located right next to Burger King. Parking is difficult, so make full use of their valet service.

Started the year with a good night out with the cousins over barbecued meat, nothing can possibly go wrong with that combination. Randomly called up the restaurant to reserve for a slot 30 minutes later, and we managed to get there just in time (also, yes, we managed to get a spot). If asked if I would revisit, answer is a definite yes. There are a few of these BBQ joints around the corner, you should check them out. Parking is a horrible thing. Please just make use of their valet service.
The next time you pass by Burger King along Jalan 24/70A in Sri Hartamas, double back to find hidden gem Momotalo Yakiniku next door. The restaurant serves value lunch sets that guarantee a meal fresh off the grill! Enjoy the quiet ambience with your partner, while basking in the crew's quick and tentative service. Thinly sliced and grilled to tender perfection, the Tenderloin Set (RM26) is a clear winner when had with their special miso dipping sauce, while the Eel Set (RM30) gets you bang for your buck with sizable, soy-glazed unagi pieces. Each set includes a side salad, kimchi, pickled cucumbers, rice and tea. If you avoid barbecue joints because of the unpleasant smoky smell, you'll be delighted to know that these guys will gladly get the grilling done in the back, which most patrons opt for.
Avg Price: RM30

Nearly empty on the weekday lunch hour, Momotalo proved to be an underrated restaurant of its kind. The Japanese barbecue restaurant offers a slew of lunch sets with mains varying from salmon to beef tenderloin. Each set is primly priced to include three sides (kimchi, pickled cucumber and salad) and a mountainous bowl of Japanese rice. Go for the Beef Tenderloin (RM26) that's surprisingly tender and especially apt when had with their specialty sauce.
When it comes to Japanese food, weโre spoilt for choice in this โhood. Momotalo serves up some attractive grilled set lunches that include side bowls of salad, pickled cucumber, kimchi, fruit, rice, a glass of tea and complimentary dessert. Visitors have a choice to grill the proteins on their own or have them prepared and served cooked. I chose the latter with my grilled Eel Set (RM30), tender fillets, glazed in sweetened soy-based sauce.
Sets are available every Tuesday to Friday, 12pm-2:30pm.

The lamb meat was fresh, with the strong aroma of lamb still present. The cut had a low amount of fat, such was perfect for barbecuing. The seasoning was sweet and delicate with notes of soy sauce and mirin. For lamb lovers, highly recommended.
