From Al Primo located within May Hwa Food Court at Golden Shoe Car Park which serves both classic as well as Asian-inspired pasta (they also serve a Tom Yum Pasta apart from this).
Think of the Laksa as Laksa without coconut milk; leans closer to being an Assam Laksa though without the tanginess. The spices exudes all the way through and through; the Laksa Paste that is so strong it choked the drink stall auntie that was beside when he was preparing it. Comes with quite a good amount of fish cake, prawns and cuttlefish, not mind-blowing awesome nor the most aesthetic and maybe not even their best item they have (got a hunch the classic ones are better) on the menu but rather interesting overall.
[Ah Heng Curry Noodles] - my go-to when it rains, nothing beats a piping hot bowl of curry noodles, with generous portions of juicy chicken, soft potatoes and taupok soaking up all the gravy!
Glorious mess of satay sauce that's mildly spicy on beehoon, with quite a generous amount of ingredients like the usual cuttlefish, kangkong, pork slices and pork liver (I opted for no cockles), all of which were fresh. Quite shiok, now I know why there's a long line during lunch!
Such a yummy treat! Well fried and crisp, with a spicy tangy sauce. I didn't even know that the stall sold this - the menu was always covered by a stack of trays!
Lunch time is like war when interning in the CBD area - this was actually satisfying and quite a lot of ingredients for $5(?) . Curry was light and fragrant, not too spicy. Might be my favourite stall for these 9 weeks on my miserable internship allowance.
