If you're an indecisive person like me, opt for this! The red pasta was giving me both tart and creamy. The spiciness wasn't overwhelming but complemented the al dente rigatoni. Overall a really amazing dish and I had a hard time deciding between choosing this and the cacio e Pepe as my favourite!
It's a wonder how the sauce was only made of cheese and pepper, and no heavy cream! The pasta was so decadent and creamy that I completely forgot what a simple dish this was.
This dish inspired me to try making it myself but of course I came nowhere close.
People rave about the pizza here but I found it kind of lacklustre. What I'd definitely come back for was the simple pastas done exceedingly well!
None of the toppings really appealed to us so we got it margherita-style. The ingredients were resoundingly fresh but the crust (the most important part of a pizza to me) didn't really impress me overall -- especially at the jaw-dropping price point.
Here’s the Cacio e Pepe ($35) - simple and delicious! Also had a pizza and salad - all good for sharing. Entire place had nice vibes (evening time) with candles on each table. You can also see the chefs making the pizza! Lucali is located within a building and the nearby carpark doesn’t have many lots so do go slightly earlier if you’re driving!
Spacious and comfortable place. Food price wise was rather steep but the portions made up for that hike. Thoroughly enjoyed the cacio e pepe and calzone (half was huge!). The rigatoni and fusilli pesto based pasta were alright. The other star to me was the spinach and artichoke dip. Maybe strange we did not get the pizza but I think the sauce paired with the calzone gave us a taste.
