It's passable overall

The flavour profile was abit different from normal, less sweet and more sour. It's not a very dry style of fried rice, unfortunately the grains were abit dry. Egg was decent tho. There's a bit of wok hei too

Located in the Newest building with simple cafe, fatburger, cupplets, Kim eng chicken rice and hakata Japanese restaurant . Lotus garden is a 30 over year old eatery serving Chinese thai cuisine at Teban gardens. It was our first time and the food was definitely above average. We ordered: fuyong omelette, sweet and sour pork and Thai pineapple rice. The wok hei was on point for everything. The pineapple rice have the right balance of fruit with the savoury flavours.

Been eating here even when they were located at Taman Jurong area in the now defunct Jurong swimming pool.

Been to their new outlet twice since they moved to Newest. Food tastes the same but I wonder if this new outlet can last because of poor footfall. Hope for the best and meanwhile I will continue to enjoy their Fish Maw with Prawns, Fried Kenyan Bean, Steamed Fish, Tom Yum Soup and Roast Chicken.

It might be a little hard to locate the unit at NEWest, but the food is really good (esp the claypot prawn tang hoon and crispy chicken with mint sauce), with average zi char price. The portion size is quite big even though we ordered Small for all (except pineapple fried rice) so overall a good place for groups and families!

πŸ€” Seems like @lotusgardensg would be your answer! (Applicable to westies only 😹) Lotus Garden serves up both Thai and Chinese cuisine at family-friendly prices and my favourite part of it is... the taste of the dishes! (duh... πŸ™Š)

πŸ§‘πŸ’› Loved the silky texture of their Hua Dan Hor Fun ($6.80/$13.60) while the Claypot Prawns w Rice Vermicelli ($16.80/$33.60) 🦐 wowed me with the gargantuan amount of garlic thrown into it (shoutout to my fellow garlic lovers πŸ‘ΎπŸ‘‹) and the chewy texture of the tang hoon. Moving on to the Thai Style Crispy Chicken w Mint Sauce ($9.80/$19.60) πŸ“, it really lived up to its name of being crispy chicken LOL and the element of the mint sauce was quite subtle, slightly overpowered by the sweet profile of the Thai sauce. The last dish was a comforting plate of Thai Style Minced Chicken Salad ($9.80/$19.60) which of course won’t fail you unless it’s not spicy at all πŸ˜‚

🀩 Thank you @foodinsing for the invitation!

Adore clear broth over cloudy broth.

Tang Hoon in Claypot with prawns and garlic.
Full of wok hei. Can just have this as a main.

Thai style Crispy Chicken in Mint sauce.
Crispy crust, succulent chicken, cannot stop eating.

Roasted Chicken with Fermented Beancurd.
Similar taste and flavour of a suckling pig, only difference it is chicken. Adore this very much.

Seafood Hor Fun. Full of wok hei. Speechless.
_
Stir fried long beans topped with ikan bilis
A perfect crunchy green.
_
Beancurd stuffed with minced prawns.
Crispy & tenderly soft beancurd. My love for beancurd doesn’t end.
_
Chendol. Of all the desserts tried, chendol remains my favourite for the day.
Enough coconut milk without overwhelming the whole dessert.
