Not many halal stalls operate in this hawker centre. But when I fancy Malay food, Yunos N Family is probably the stall to go to! Always attracting a long queue since the past, they serve your usual Malay noodles, gado-gado, satays and soups. What sets this stall apart is they have a special menu that is extensive especially for their Mee Rebus and Mee Soto, which is usually priced at $3 for the normal option. The special menu allows customers to order the Mee Rebus or Mee Soto with added meat portion such as Chicken, ekor (oxtail) or babar (beef tripe).
This Mee Rebus + Chicken ($4) had a very distinct gravy that sets it different from the rest. Instead of the starchy type of gravy (sweet potato curry gravy) , what you get here is a less thick gravy that taste very similar to satay sauce! Noodles are aplenty here, as with the tau pok, chicken meat, beansprouts and a full hard-boiled egg, all of which complemented with the sauce well!
Yunos N Family is located at Ang Mo Kio Central Market & Food Centre, #01-01, Block 724 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6, S(560724), operating from 11am - 9.30pm on Monday to Saturday!
Beginning of the long weekend and MAY everyone have a great time chilling wherever you are. Presenting to you the Lamb Shakshuka from Rise & Grind, a perfect sunrise for the egg lovers.
Lazy, rainy Sunday with desserts at this one-week-old cafe, which is like a quaint little shack tucked at one end of Gillman Barracks.
We shared this toasted brioche heaped with super-ripe caramelised bananas, sopped in gooey Penang gula melaka and finished with a sprinkling of dessicated coconut. For $7, it's a pretty value-for-money treat.

Seems pricey at $4.50 a pop, but there are so many reasons why I'd gladly pay for this precious baby any time.
1. This is freshly made in-house entirely from scratch, including the crisp, flaky tart shell of puff pastry.
2. I doubt you can find another egg tart in Singapore that boasts a brûléed custard as perfectly textured as this. It's oozy, dense and creamy, all at the same time; just barely on the right side of being set, and that's the beauty of it.
3. It's a blessing to even be able to snag one, because only 20 of these are baked a day. The procedure is that tedious.
Whoever says this is "just so-so" needs a serious knock on the head.
Free flow tapas and wine for just $40+. One of the best hidden secrets? Head down to be surprised and impressed by what the chef feels like serving you that day. Warning: dinner could go on for 4 hours and you'll be so satiated you can barely move :p 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
A hidden gem tucked in the quieter part of Bedok Reservior, Refuel Cafe definitely hits the spot with the Full Tank ($13.90), which comes with scrambled eggs, bratwurst sausage, salad, mushroom and toast (I changed the tomatoes and baked beans for more scrambled eggs). Their scrambled eggs were done masterfully with the right mix of milk and buttery goodness. Special mention for their pancakes too, as it was well executed.
Hungarian pork was flown in for quality assurance by the korean chef makes every bite of the fatty pork belly worth it! When ate with the special sauce and the vegetable assortments, the juices you taste with every bite is just so palatable!
Finally got to try out one of the dish for ultimate hawker fest 2014, the Prata Blaster! 👳
Their signature crispy prata topped up with Turkey Ham, Poached egg and their own Indian hollandaise sauce, the dish is absolutely perfect when fused together! Just wow ☺️, so yummy!

Its delicately pretty looks belies a divine rose fragrance and an intense lychee flavour. How not to fall in love you tell me 😍
Do note that "Out Of The Cake Box" is actually more of a bakery, so seating is limited.
Three creamy dishes, same same but different. • Beef Stroganoff: I expected this to come in a brown sauce instead of cream, but no matter, it was quite yummy anyway with fries on the side. The meat was too tough, though. • Double Fish: Like a gratin of sorts, with fillets of salmon and dory flanked by thinly sliced potatoes and baked in cream and cheese. The salmon was especially gorgeous – moist, pink, and not at all fishy. • Pork Julienne: Probably my favourite main of the day, with cubes of sautéed potatoes and toothsome pork imparting their smokiness to the cream sauce, making it even more flavourful.

happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to have coffee.
