Located in a coffeeshop near Bukit Batok MRT, this Hokkien Mee stall is a delight for those of you who love your Hokkien mee to be of the wetter version. Each mouthful comes with a good slurp of the super flavourful broth! The noodles also carry a tinge of wok hei.

I also love that there is a generous amount of ingredients thrown in just look at the sotong, pork belly strips and pork lard thrown in! I opted out of prawns though. The chilli is low on the spicy meter, can ask for more if you want more kick. Good to try if you find yourself in the west!

I know, this place is famous for their wanton mee, but I found a dish better than that or their claypot rice. Their hor fun ($12/15) is really quite expensive for their portion but it's probably one of the best ones I've had. Good amount of wok hei, generous amount of ingredients and perfect consistency of sauce to mop it all up. This is one dish I find myself trying to clear up the scrapes instinctively.

The wok hei is developed by frying the hor fun noodles over and extremely high heat, causing the oil to combust and catch fire as it is heated beyond its flash point. The resulting noodles is smoky and hearty, which complements the starchy/egg gravy and beef pieces. Perfect with green chilli!

Long queues for this place, I can see why!

Finally back at top 1 after... 4 years?? It is still pretty good, with al dente noodles tossed in a sweet dark sauce, topped with minced meat clumps (was decent but I’m not a big fan), meatballs (did not like this, i think it’s just frozen meatballs), a mix of 大白菜 & chye sin / xiaobaicai, braised mushrooms, and crisp ikan bilis. I felt that the noodles tasted more qq and shiok 4 years back. But it was still a satisfying lunch :) Special mention to the soup, which was very flavourful! There’s a subtle sweetness, perhaps from the 大白菜.

Got our food about 45 mins after joining the queue at 11.45am on Saturday. Mhk was sold out already so I gotta come earlier next time!

It’s Christmas Day! Spent forty-five minutes in queue for a bowl of seafood pao fan today. Love everything that’s inside, especially the two huge prawns 🦐🦐 for its freshness, firm texture and rich amount of dark grey roe in the heads!! There are plenty of other fresh seafood ingredients including clams, scallop and fish slices that makes this dish worthy to stand in line for.
