Since I discovered Tangled, it’s become my go-to pasta place even though I neither live nor work near it. I mean, handmade pasta for $10? Where else can you find that? This is egg papardelle ricce with salmon cranberries, and tomato sauce. I really liked the large amount of salmon flakes and the chewy pasta. The only downside is that there is no dine-in option, but I guess that helps to keep the price low.
I had mafalde pasta with pomodoro ($9.90), prawns ($4.50) and sun-dried tomatoes ($1.50). Really appreciate that this place sells handmade pasta! The prawns were juice and the sauce was tasty. Portion size was just nice, not too big, but it also kept me pretty full for a long time after.
Spaghetti with tomato cream sauce, and four huge vegetable balls. One was beetroot, one was quinoa, and two were chickpea. I loved the vegetable balls, especially the beetroot and quinoa ones. It’s a bit pricey compared to other things on the menu, but it’s delicious.
Except I asked for the non-spicy version. This is a tomato cream-based pasta with crabmeat lumps and a few cherry tomatoes. As with all the pastas here, you get a choice of either linguine or penne. I really enjoyed this, the tomato cream was delicious and there was plenty of crabmeat.
Located above Simpang Bedok, this stall serves unexpectedly good pasta. This was the special of the day, but you can actually create it as well as they allow you to customise your pasta by adding on ingredients that you want. And while this has no chilli, they informed me I could get it with chilli if I wanted. This aglio olio has a generous amount of garlic, clams and especially crabmeat. There’s already plenty in the photo but I actually ate some before taking the photo! Great value for money and recommended.
$88 gets you a portion that feeds two people (i.e. double of this), and they serve half portions on request if there are odd numbers of people, so really it’s $44. This is the most decadent plate of pasta I’ve ever eaten. The uni and scallop are amazingly fresh, and there are very generous portions of both of these as well as the caviar. Even the angel hair pasta is surprising – it clumps together in a way that is not starchy or creamy, but instead highlights its smoothness. The whole dish is light tasting, not creamy or oily, allowing each of the fancy ingredients to be showed off and savoured. The dish being served cold accentuates this and helps the flavours to gel together. This is truly a pasta for special occasions.
We came at night and sat outside along the road. It's a lovely place with a chill ambience. There was a live band playing acoustic music. This pasta came with handmade tagliatelle in a mild local chilli sauce, with a decent sized piece of lobster. Good food and good atmosphere.
Tomato-based spaghetti with bell peppers, rocket, mushrooms and mozarella. Portion was large and there was a nice amount of ingredients. I enjoyed this on Entertainer 1-for-1. Do note that you can’t use the Happy Hour promotions for drinks if you’re using Entertainer or Burpple promotions for food.
