pasta fries and everything nice
The burgers here are great! Very juicy beef patties and soft buttery brioche buns. Good cocktails, and fries were flavourful and yummy. I think we really enjoyed the portobello, which is roasted mushrooms on toast (pictured in the middle)!

my fave pizzas were wish i was a baller and mexico by day! their fries and buffalo wings were also very yummy.

we had a very pleasant time here - ambience, service, and food are amazing!
rigatoni w wild boar ragout: this was honestly superrrr good. the wild boar meat was juicy and soft, not what i was expecting at all. rigantoni was al denté too!
wild mushroom ragout on bread: in my opinion, this was the best dish. the ragout was so creamy and fragrant without being too heavy. absolutely our fave dish.
coucou burger (sept menu): super juicy angus beed patty! super delicious, but nothing too special about it, just a regular burger w fries.
rosti zermatt: this is what rosti should taste like! crispy edges and fluffy interior 😮💨✨ i did find it abit salty because it was covered in raclette cheese. the ham was pretty normal too.
we’ll be back!! :)

ordered the babaganoush (not pictured), beyti chicken kebab (not pictured), tas kebab (behind), and chicken mussaka (front). everything was super delicious and flavourful! i really loved the chicken kebab because the chicken is flame grilled and has a very intense ‘wokhey’ taste! it went really well with their housemade sauce, which is something like sour cream with dill. the tas kebab is a beef dish and the beef is SO tender! but i personally don’t like red peppers, and this dish had the red pepper taste. mashed potatoes are super creamyyyyy! would definitely come back here again for some really yummy turkish food and a good ambience!! 🤩🤩🤩
had to get the famous wagyu beef cubes ($18), truffle moonlight horfun ($23), their ebi katsu sando ($18). i get why their beef cubes are so hyped up — its really good! there was a nice char (or wok hey) on the beef, it was so tender, and the sauce it came w was amazing!
the horfun was so yummy too. the truffle oil wasn’t too overpowering and they were very generous w their wagyu striploin beef pieces! i kept eating them but they never seemed to finish (good problem HAHAHAH). one downside is that there was a lot of tendon and muscle on the beef slices, making them abit hard to chew and swallow.
imo, the ebi katsu sando seemed a little lean, but my friend seemed to enjoy it. i didn’t get to try it so i can’t comment on the taste of this dish!

tried caffe cicheti so we wanted to try bar cicheti as well. had high expectations bc caffe cicheti was sooooo good, but we were kinda disappointed with the pastas — we ordered the tagliolini ($32) and bucatini ($30).
the tagliolini had good flavour, a hint of spice, and lots of fresh prawns. the bucatini was v e r y salty, and this is coming from a person who kinda likes salty food so… maybe the pecorino and guanciale ratio was off? 🙃 overall it was average, not mind blowing like caffe cicheti’s pasta choices.
their starters were good though, we hard the burratina ($26) and scallop crudo ($26). the burrata is very fresh and the bread they gave is so yummy and toasted to perfection. their scallops are very fresh and the mix of flavours is interesting, but we enjoyed it!

their pork belly fried w olive leaves ($24) is a must order when you come here! the dish is so flavourful and the pork belly has just the right amount of fat. we tried the grilled chicken w mapo tofu ($24) and it’s yummy too, albeit abit salty. the chicken isn’t dry at all and the mapo taste is great!
the whole time he was eating, he kept nodding his head at how good everything tasted, so i think this is a pretty good sign for you to try this place! 🥴

let me get this out of the way - i’m not a fan of vietnamese food. it just never appealed to me and i never had really good ones before. but we decided to try this place and it BLEW ME AWAY. we ordered the steamed rice paper rolls with chargrilled pork (it’s like chee cheong fun w super flavourful grilled pork), sliced beef pho, and rice noodles with pork. their portions are huge, definitely enough to fill you up. they gave generous portions of meat in all 3 dishes, i would say the meat to noodle/rice rolls ratio is 40:60! the sliced beef was super soft, didn’t taste dry or gamey. the chargrilled pork had a nice burnt/smokey flavour to it, and accompanied with fried shallots that just made the whole dish so tasty! overall, the dishes weren’t too oily and while it was super flavourful, it wasn’t too heavy on the palette either. i was really impressed by this place and i would definitely come back again. really authentic vietnamese food for a reasonable price (considering quality AND quantity). 9/10! :)
i’m sure many have tried this highly raved cafe in serangoon gardens, so i’ll keep it short! their salmon soba really blew me away. i don’t normally like soba but this was so good! the sauce evenly coated the al dente soba noodles (and its served hot, not cold soba) and the fish is pretty fresh! loved the generous amount of furikake on the sunny side too! the truffle fries are actually pretty normal fries you can find at many cafes, nothing too special about it, but it tastes good! not a fan of the miso risotto though! its usually crowded both in the morning and at night, so do make reservations early to avoid the disappointment :)

this is my second time coming here! their pastas are handmade, though not all, it depends on what you order! the pasta portions are a little small, so you probably won’t be full from just eating it alone. we ordered their pizza as well, which is really good! the drinks were about $7/8 per glass? they were having a promotion at the time. and also they gave free bread that you can dip in olive oil and balsamic. the bread is super tasty i felt like i was in italy although i’ve never even been there before HAHAHA overall this is a pretty fancy place and would be good for dates! :)

we ordered 2 premium omakase platters ($25/person), the highly raved sotong ($19), and 2 pastas ($25 each) that i couldn’t fit into this picture! the sotong is really good! the sotong isn’t rubbery and has a nice bite to it. the sauce has a slight tang from the spicy tomato sauce (its not spicy, so don’t worry) and when you mix it all and the sauce coats the sotong evenly, it comes together perfectly! i believe some of the items on the premium platter changes according to whats in season/what they have in the kitchen, but i think what blew us away was their burrata cheese (under the parma ham). its super fresh and soft! their oysters are also fresh and served very generously with ikura. everything on the platter was good, the only thing that didnt blow me away was the sashimi. the pastas here are handmade and are served al dente! we ordered the bolognese and carbonara. they’re simple everyday pasta dishes but so rich in flavour. we’ll definitely be back here again, and to try their pizza next time! :)

We ordered a cajun chicken and sirloin steak using burpple beyond, and its so affordable (prices stated on the menu are nett!!!!!)! The chicken is juicy and tender, seasoned perfectly and the sauce (on the side) is slightly spicy and tangy. The steak is average, he felt that there was not much flavour to it, but the meat isn’t tough and there is no gamey taste. Not the worst, but not outstanding either. You are able to choose a side that comes with the main, so we both got the potato skins. The skin is crispy and they even added cheese to the potato, totally delicious. For the price you pay, it’s quite worth it! We would definitely go back for the chicken and to try their pork chop! Also, it might get crowded during dinner time as it is nestled under a HDB block (and surrounded by HDBs), so do come earlier or make a reservation :)
