how long have I not posted about my Korea trip... This Champagne Sugar Ball is so pretty and is undeniably the most instagrmmable dessert there that I made a trip to Gangnam for this. What lies in this delicately handcrafted sugar ball are champagne foam, edible flowers, strawberry panna cotta fresh strawberry slices and strawberry consomme on a bed of cheesecake snow. Ordered a tea to go with the drink too.

Aesthetic interior, natural lighting, and yummy food. The glass window allows you to have a great view of the Han river, but unfortunately, it was super foggy that day.
Ordered a Carbonara (20000 krw) and Rooibos Colada Tea (7000 krw). The Carbonara was tossed in cream sauce that consists of Button Mushroom,Bacon and Asparagus, while being blanketed by lots of Wild Argula with a Sous vide egg center. The creamy pasta is not overwhelming which makes for a hearty breakfast.

Spent 30,000 won (~$34) on this cup of Van Gogh’s Starry night coffee. I climbed a steep slope just to get here.... gosh Korea is really the land of slopes and stairs. 😭 We were so lucky @leekangbin91 is also there so we got to take photos with him. (Posted this already.) The cream art takes a while to make and is on top of cold coffee so long photo-taking is possible and no irritating air bubbles will appear. Look at just how intricate and gorgeous this is! This requires a reservation but how lucky I am to be able to get this without reserving in advance

Indulge in not 1 but over 300 desserts to choose from! Spoilt for choices but fret not I have tried the Earl grey Strawberry Shortcake and Black Tea Eclair for you.
Earl grey Strawberry Shortcake
Fluffy earl grey infused sponge layered with cream and strawberries.
This tubular dessert is crisp on the outside, heavy with filling and uniformly glazed. I liked that they decorated it with rose petals and gold leaves. A great dessert fitting for this elegant cafe.
Yummy desserts to conclude Day 2 of my Korea adventure~

If you scroll through my feed, you would see me taking a selfie with the iconic One in a Million signage. The drink with the "one in a million" words on it is a must-order! We ordered the Grapefruit Ade and Blueberry Lemonade which was refreshing to fight the summer heat to go with the Marble Choco Cheese Cake. I think this place will be a good place to go and chill out with friends.

Anthracite coffee roasters converted to become a cafe with modern industrial-chic design. To achieve an industrial feel, A mix of greys, neutrals and rustic colours can be seen throughout. Some of the key elements for this cafe includes stone flooring and large windows. The centrepiece for the second floor of this cafe is a green space in the middle. This by far one of the most instagrammable cafe in Seoul that I have been to. I ordered a cup of latte that comes with a simple latte art heart. Medium-bodied and smooth with a nutty aroma. There is nothing like a cup of coffee ☕ to warm up my soul and start my day right but starting my day wrong in Singapore 🙄

With a longstanding history, they're bound to be good! As this is my first time, I ordered the classic Seolleongtang at 12000 yen. This comes with 3 mandus. Here's how you're gonna eat this: Take a few sips of the soup first before pouring the rice into the soup. Add some salt and pepper as seasoning, if you like or eat this together with the kimchi.

The bowl of soup is served in a Korean iron bowl with green onions as garnishing. It has a homely feel to it. The beef is thinly sliced and is not the most tender out there. What is so brilliant about this soup is in the recipe itself. Seolleongtang is actually a soup made from bovine bones, cow's head, limbs, meat and innards cooked for more than 10 hours. The color of the soup is cloudy and almost look white as snow, thus having the name of "雪濃湯".
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The piping hot ox-bone soup feels exceptionally comforting and belly-warming during the winter season, not to mention how nourishing it is! Kimchi and radishes are readily available at the tables for customers to eat. The soup is different from the Japanese's ramen soup and is quite light on the palate but has that subtle sweetness. Surprisingly I can finish up the soup. In addition to the snowy soup, this huge dumpling is also something to look out for. The traditional Korean dumplings with minced meat, onions, and dang hoon are included. The mandus in Korea is totally different from the wonton or dumplings here in Singapore. It is larger in size and more generous in the ingredients inside. Definitely feels more substantial and moreish.

My order came in this big bowl of top-class boiled chicken broth with noodles inside. The broth was thick and rich in flavor. No flour is added as well. The noodles were soft and just the right amount of texture. The secret in achieving this consistency is that the noodles absorb some of the broth thus becoming softer.
The best noodles I have tasted in the 10 days I spent in South Korea. It came with 4 mandus, minced meat, and vegetables.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I ordered the Mandus as well. The basket of 10 Mandus is seriously for sharing. haha. I had a HARD time finishing all 10 by myself. The ones at Myeong Dong Kyoja are made with fresh pork fillings and chives. The Mandus are wrapped in a thin translucent layer of skin, encasing substantial fillings. It is seriously not too bad but I would prefer it to be juicer.

Take Exit 3 from Chungmuro Station. It is a 2-minute walk away.
Specializing in Chinese Cuisines, I thought I was back in Singapore coz the interior resembles one of those 酒楼 back at home.
A super big portion of black bean sauce that came in a big bowl with a decent amount of pork and vegetables inside that I am supposed to stir into the handmade noodles. I am so in awe by how good the quality of noodles these are coz QQ to the max. This wasn't very sweet and complements the noodles very well!

Both are powerhouse nutritious food. The porridge may look plain and simple but it is actually quite nice. The porridge with its smooth and not mushy texture is actually not bad. You could taste the beef and mushroom broth but the flavours are not strong. My friend actually remarked that the standard has dropped but as a first-timer, I think this is not too bad la. This comes with banchan(side dishes) such as bean sprouts, radish, spicy octopus and burdock root.
