These Mala Lobster Crackers from Long Da Ge are seriously addictive! Made with authentic Sichuan flavours, every bite is crunchy with a fiery kick. The spice lingers in your mouth while a subtle numbing sensation slowly builds up. Super shiok! These spicy morsels would certainly make great CNY snacks for your festive gatherings, especially when paired with beer!

We went to Three Buns to check out the plant-based nuggets (named ‘Nugg It’ in the menu) from ALTN! Made from a mixture of plant-based proteins including soy, pea and fungus, they legitimately (I’m not even kidding lol!) taste like the real deal and are so crispy & yummy too! Dip it in the Korean BBQ sauce or classic Smokey BBQ sauce for that extra oomph! You guys gotta try it to believe it!
These nuggets are available all day on the menu at Three Buns and Potato Head Singapore.
Popcorn lovers fall in! Uncle Didi offers a total of 12 flavours of popcorn to choose from, ranging from their standard flavours to specialty flavours and a couple of seasonal flavours that’s changed quarterly! I was lucky enough to get to try all of the flavours and I must say the popcorns are really fresh, yummy and addictive! From sweet, savoury to unique flavours, there’s something for everyone! My personal favourites are Milo Dark Chocolate, Caramel, Double Cheese, Brown Sugar (seasonal) & Sour Cream (seasonal)! The popcorns are available in different sizes from ‘fun’, ‘medium’ to ‘jumbo’, and orders can be made via this link (https://linktr.ee/UncleDiDi48).
Crispy shrimp, tossed in a spicy sauce, topped with green onions and sesame seeds, served on a bed of creamy coleslaw! This was dangerously addictive, with the right amount of spice, perfect to go with a pint of beer!
I have to admit that when this appetiser was served to our table i wasn’t expecting much, but i was pleasantly surprised by how much i (and the others) loved this!
These Shimeji mushrooms were surprisingly light in taste and so well seasoned, which made each bite so addictive! Not one single piece was left untouched, so you can tell how much we loved this!
Thanks Burpple & STAGE for having me.

Of all the food i tried, the standout for me was probably the Fried Squid ($12) from stall 12! It was very crispy and well marinated, and as you can see from the pic the portion is huge too! Other food items i would recommend are Sesame Chicken Mee Sua & Braised Pork Rice (Stall 7), Braised Beef Noodles (Stall 13), Taiwanese Sausage with Glutinous Rice & Traditional Soya Beancurd (Stall 19).

Replacing the former BAKE Cheese Tart outlet, the Zakuzaku flagship store will offer the famous Croquant Chou, a kind of stick-type cream puff that is filled with fresh cream and completed with its unique crunchy texture.
Each Croquant Chou will retail at $2.80, while a set of 4 will retail at $10.50. The store will also be offering soft serve ice cream (cup or cone) and Hiyazaku (crispy puff containing soft ice-cream), retailing at $6 and $3.80 respectively. Limited edition menu items unique to the Singapore store will be available as well.
Tried the famous chwee kueh at Ghim Moh Food Centre yesterday as well; and i have mixed feelings. While the kuehs are soft and sticky (they still handmade the kuehs every single day), i found the cai por to be too salty (but that’s just because i prefer my cai por sweet). That said, they still have their loyal fans but i still personally prefer the Tiong Bahru or Bedok ones.
If there was a dish that everyone at the eatup all agreed was good, this was it. A dish like Har Cheong Gai (prawn paste chicken) may seem simple, but when done right the taste is delicious. And oh boy, Orh Gao’s rendition of Har Cheong Gai was excellent; the meat was so juicy and skin was very crispy, each bite was filled with umami goodness. A great bar snack to have with their craft beers on tap.

Believe it or not, i have never tried oyster cake until yesterday when i chanced upon this stall at Berseh Food Centre. Shaped like an UFO, the cakes were crispy on the outside while moist and tasty on the inside with a decent amount of minced meat, prawns and oysters. Great on its own and even better with the chilli.

In case you didn’t know, Guo Kui is a crispy thin flatbread (something like a chinese version of naan) that is stuffed with different kinds of pickled vegetables and baked in huge charcoal cylindrical clay ovens without any use of oil.

With a few different flavours to choose from, the guo kuis from @xiaoyangguokuisg are very crispy and fragrant with a savoury taste that will definitely leave you wanting more!

Eng Kee (Commonwealth branch) has always been considered one of the best fried chicken wings in Singapore and having tried the chicken wings again recently, the standard remained so consistently good. Each piece of fried chicken wing was so juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside; super addictive! (P.S. skip the average tasting bee hoon, just head straight for the wings will do)
