The kueh bengkah (baked tapioca) had just the right texture and taste. I especially loved the edges which were slightly crisp from the baking. Tasted lovely with the coconut ice cream served with it.

Kueh kosui (steamed tapioca with gula melaka, commonly known as palm sugar). It was a tad soft and sweet but very fragrant. Yummy especially when eaten with the fresh and crunchy grated coconut sprinkled on TOP.

Baked custard with gula melaka. This was inspired by a Spanish dessert called koka. It was very smooth and tasted lovely with the fragrant gula melaka. This was my favourite of all the three desserts we tried that night.

There are many versions of this local dish. Every ethnic group has its own version. Today the dish is served in many Indian, Malay, Chinese and Peranakan restaurants

This particular one we had was a Eurasian version. Amongst the many dishes we ordered, this was the only one which did not quite strike a chord with us. When @vinopothamus mentioned that it reminded him of Devil's Curry, I realised what the problem was. We all have our own preconceived views and preferences when it comes to fish head curry. Not being familiar with the Eurasian version, I just couldn't appreciate the fish head in this style of curry.

Grilled boneless chicken leg marinated in 7 different spices. We wouldn't have ordered this if not for @sk_food_and_travel who is always game to try any form of grilled or deep fried chicken. Great choice! Well grilled yet tender and definitely yummy.

The beef cheeks were braised in a rich gravy made with 15 different herbs and spices. Very tender but I thought the gravy was a bit mild. Perhaps I am more used to strong tasting spicy rendangs.

Squid cooked in its own ink with spice. This is very similar to the classic Malay version. Equally as tasty too!

A Eurasian dish of deboned wolf herring in non spicy paste. It reminded me of the yummy kerisik sambal ikan (coconut flaked fish) you would normally mix in your Nasi Kerabu or Nasi Ulam. A very tasty addition to plain rice.

Spinach, sweet potato leaves and kangkong (morning glory) in spicy gravy enriched with coconut milk. Although this was a vegetable dish, the gravy was so so tasty. I thought I was greedy when I took the last helping on our side of the table, until I turned around to the other side and saw @veronicaphua polishing off the gravy 😂! Inspired by her, I proceeded to do the same. It truly was that good 😋.

I may be biased because I love 4 angled beans but this dish was really very good. The addition of pineapples made a huge difference. It gave the tangy and savoury dish a little hint of sweetness. Super yummy! This was my favourite dish for the night.

It was full of flavour and wok hei. Very well executed and tasty, especially when mixed with the runny egg yolk and extra serving of buah keluak.

The Dassai 23 Junmai Daiginjo needs no introduction. It was very smooth and elegant.

Next up was the Raifuku Junmai Daiginjo from Ibaraki prefecture, which was my favourite of the night. Made with Hitachi Nishiki rice and polished until 8%. It was elegant yet bold 😋😋😋.

The last sake tasted more like dessert wine. Tamagawa 'Time Machine' Junmai Kimoto. It had a musky, sweet taste. First ever tasting a sweet sake.

This was very yummy. My type of dessert, not too sweet with the amazing contrast of the Prosciutto smoked salt. They were gone in no time at all.

I did find the sugee cake a little on the dry side but the combination was still very yummy.
