It’s true! You can order your favourite dim sum from Tiong Bahru Pau next door, tell them you’re going to eat here and you’ll be given necessary utensils to bring here to eat! Wonderful! Air conditioning and comfortable seats plus you can have kaya toast with soft boiled eggs too. 👏👏👏

Kaya toast $8?! yes, we really ponder what is so special and glad that we tried. The combination on the plate is good. A refreshing way of having kaya toast.

my friend told me there is this Atas Kaya Toast.. which has gula melaka.. maybe i should try that when i am back here again

Comprising of 3 slices of toast, each layer was filled slices of ham and gruyere cheese and topped off with a sunny side up. Simple yet delectable combination, a soft and fluffy brioche that's coated with a fragrant egg batter - just like French toast 😋 Coupled with a savoury pleasant tinge of saltiness from the ham & melted gruyere cheese, the combination was simple yet delectable. The sunny side up was nicely moulded, with a fragile, soft and slightly runny yolk. A filling brunch that is satisfying if only the price was less steep...

On weekends, child-friendly cafe along Guillemard Road is always bustling with activity. They don't take reservations, so come early with a group of friends to snag a seat at one of the two coveted communal tables. Otherwise, be prepared to sit at the counter seats by the window. The menu is written on the chalkboard left of the cashier and while the number of offerings are limited, you can be assured everything is satisfying. Of the five mains, get the egg-cellent Oven Baked Molten Eggs on Tortilla and Melted Cheese ($16.80) that comes with thinly sliced avocado, cherry tomatoes and smoked salmon. The two ready-to-burst molten eggs promise a river of liquid gold, so have your cameras ready to catch all the runny action. If you're dropping by at non-meal times, opt for their tasty Curried Chicken Wrap ($11.90) or their Earl Grey Croissant ($4.20). Pair these bites with a Flat White ($5) or their Cold Brew ($7.80), and just while away your afternoon with a good read.

The vegetarian option – Independent Uruguay – featuring carrot pesto, feta cheese, pickled beetroot, falafel, Kranji lettuce, yoghurt sauce and rye bread. Carrots are steamed till mushy, and its flesh is then cooked with garlic, chilli padi and tomato reduction to give the sandwich a fresh sweetness.

Back at this revamp cafe. Need to go on a diet for the next one month. 😝
Acai Smoothie Bowl ($11.90)

The eggs were runny and the spices in the whole dish makes it pops out! The atmosphere is quite chill and it wasn't very crowded at this timing. Definitely worth a visit if you are around the neighbourhood!

This is the hearty and very tasty sandwich I had at PV in Tiong Bahru the other day for lunch. It costs SGD16 so it's not cheap but it's huge so I suggest you split with a friend and then have a cupcake or tart all to yourself for dessert.

I love how this is filled with a surprising amount of vegetables! Nomnomnom.

For a place that specialises in tarts, they do a big breakfast that's surprisingly good. Scrambled eggs were smooth and creamy while the pork sausage was juicy and the bacon strips, nicely crisped. Served alongside were sautéed whole brown mushrooms and focaccia bread. Drips Cafe showed off their baking chops by making sure the latter was a treat. Soft, fluffy and redolent with herbs, the focaccia came with a fine layer of Parmesan cheese topping.

Nifty little idea really. Cook beaten egg into pancake-like flatness, then place sheets of ham on that and roll them up together. When you cut through it, the effect is like a Swiss roll, with equal parts of each. Accompanied by baked beans and house-baked focaccia that's fluffy and really fragrant, this is a breakfast I'd order again.
