Looks familiar? Yes, it's open by the folks behind Ninja Bowl, but this outlet seated along Seah Street so ninja warriors working around the area can get their healthy fix. Rice bowls available includes Japanese inspired Oh My Cod!, Squid Fix or brunch items such as Salmon Confit and Polenta Mash. Marvellous Matcha is the only dessert dish they created though.
Mains ranges between $8 to $12 & you can complete it with a side & drink for $5!
My favorite was Bird's Nest ($10)! A simple main of Korean glass noodles (tanghoon), paired with marinated spicy chicken, onsen egg & tobiko! The glass noodles had such the right amount of sauce that made it extremely savory & easy to finish up. Pair it with the spicy chicken and adding the yolk for extra creaminess complemented it!
If you're looking for something more substantial, you can DIY-Don! You can choose from a variety of carbs, too it with a side & main for just $8! Pretty worth it I'd say!
Initially ordered the flat white, but changed my mind after seeing this interesting bottle! Which might explain the higher price. Looks aside, the cold brew strength is right in the middle of the scale, and fit most people. I generally prefer a stronger brew.
It's not really a rice bowl spot per se; more of a salad/healthy eats kinda bar, mighty similar to Daily Cut, with the option of enjoying your choice of protein as a donburi. It isn't the cheapest of meals, but decent given the portion and lovely meats! Loving this slab of salmon that's first sous vide, thus boasting an amazing melt-in-your-mouth texture, then torched for that crisp, charred exterior. Just simple seasoning and a generous drizzle of lemon juice ā perfect.
I'm always a big fan of filling bowls with ample meat and greens. Great place for a business lunch. Got a complementary piece of cake too!

Stumbled upon a corner hawker stall in Jalan Batu Hawker Centre that serves really decent Korean food. "JoJo Asia Delight" (stall #01-01) is manned by three kind-looking aunties who seem like they want nothing more than to feed you well. Which explains the pretty generous portions for the price.
The crispy fried fish and spicy tofu stew sets cost only $5.50 each while the dumpling, egg and glass noodle soup was $4.50.
Now you know why this gets to go on my list of cheap and tasty places in my hood.
With an updated brunch menu and newly renovated space, Montana Singapore is always bringing something new to the table - offering different dining experiences. Hence, with the unveiling of Anarchy, a wine bar located at the lower floor (formerly occupied by South Bronx), you can get to understand more about wine, as well as perhaps your palate and how it reflects your personality in the cosy yet intimate space they have created.
The food, of course, got my attention instead. My recommended dish would be theĀ Braised Beef Cheek with Carrot Kimchi ($20.80) though some might find the flavours a little heavy. Served with an intriguing bed of sweet potato and potato mash, the dish was balanced with the savoury tender beef cheeks and tangy carrot kimchi. And if you can handle the heat (not me cause I teared up like a baby), theĀ Crab Aglio Olio Linguine ($20.80) with sizable chunks of fresh crab meat will give you a surprising kick though seemingly harmless. They even have a white habanero version for those adventurous enough to opt for it. But how can you leave without trying Montanaās winning waffles, and this time with chives in the batter. A tad dry, the Peking Chicken Confit Waffles ($16.50) was a great asian take on the classic chicken and waffles. The five spiced chicken confit was nicely crisp on the outside and paired interestingly with the smoked ginger plum coleslaw but the side dip might overpower the other components so go easy on it.Ā
The snowy shaved milk and chewy rice cakes are the winners in this Injelomi Bingsu.

Went past the stall yesterday and saw a queue here during lunch hour. Met a friend in the area and decided to give it a try, and thankfully this was the last bowl left for the day. Served chilled, it was amazingly smooth and silken for one that was left on the shelf for quite some time without being mushed into bits. There was also quite an ample amount of syrup added as it was desirably sweet; definitely something I would go for again if I happen to be in the area again!
š“Back here for coconuty creamy frozen coconut šTotally what I'm feeling right now. Beach pleaseeeeee. When can I have a holiday? š¢ (Grad students do not have holidays in their live lol) #everydayimhusking #froco #burpple #eatclean #husk
These Howling Wings from @coyote_sg are made them - one of the spiciest Chillis in the world!! You even need to sign a waiver before eating š±
Personally can't really take spicy stuff, but still took a bit of the sauce to try out of curiosity. I can only tell you the effect of the chili is so so numbing, even milk can't help you!! Think you are up for the challenge? Go down to Coyote to try out the Scorpion ($28)! This is the fifth and highest level! There is other levels for you to try - Habanero(š¶š¶š¶š¶), Chipotle(š¶š¶š¶), JalapeƱo(š¶š¶) and Tequila(š¶)!
