The Alsdann burger comes with grilled pear, mild blue cheese and walnuts. The blue cheese really stood out and made the dish - it was really creamy, and not too intense, and complimented the beef really well. The pear added some sweetness which the walnuts gave it a nice crunchy texture. One of the more interesting options on their menu, and definitely worth trying!

One of my favourite places to stop by for a delicious snack. This places supplies the best pita in the country to some of the best restaurants, so you know you're in for a treat! My favorites are the wholemeal and za'atar pitas, served warm alongside their superbly creamy hummus. Say yes when he asks if you take spicy, and you'll be rewarded with a lovely dusting of chili powder. Loaded with whole chickpeas and hard boiled eggs, this was divine. I also loved the really simple, no frills environment, just sitting along the walkway at Bali Lane and snacking on these beauties 👌🏻

Pictured is the Houjicha Hazelnut Cake - cake was fluffy but slightly on the drier, houjicha taste could have been stronger though.

Not just a newcomer to the scene, Merci Marcel is one of those cafes where you can get an out-of-Singapore experience with its French-styled interior and gorgeous brick-walled outdoor dining area. A selection of their usual main dishes are available for brunch as well, and we found some interesting dishes such as the Marinated Crab Tartine ($18). A generous portion of crab was spread on soft sourdough bread, and topped with avocado, alfalfa and radishes.

Buttered brioche with shredded sous vide pulled pork collar, homemade Yakiniku sauce, pickles and the same combi of cheese as in their Trio Cheese ($6.90) sandwich - cheddar, mozzarella and fontina. I actually quite liked that this wasn’t the saucy kind of pulled pork sandwiches and the addition of pickles helped to balance out the heavier flavours! The pickles were a nice touch, not the usual kind that are too sour or acidic. This sandwich is also served in Nesuto, comes with a side of salad and priced at $16.

Hustle Co’s Salmon Rosti ($23) features a succulent pan-seared salmon slab on a perfectly crisp golden-brown grated potato fritter, topped with salty popping roe and generous dollops of dill crème fraiche.

Crunchy and creamy, there was a nice balance of texture as well as flavour - with bits of briny pops and refreshing dill crème fraiche to offset a bit of that greasiness from the rosti. A guaranteed crowd pleaser and great item to share for brunch.

Fleaky pie crust with good amount of meat as filling. Happy tummy indeed.

I had been waiting to try this for months!! And boy did it live up to the expectations. The coffee ($8) as good as it can be but the experience of a kawai creature floating on the coffee is amazing. Felt bad drinking the cute thing's paw with the last sip though 😢

Yet another one of those dishes at Five Marbles where they have used their craft beers in the cooking process, the Craft Beet Chicken Rice comes with a local touch. The rice comes flavoured; no doubt not as flavourful as the flavoured rice from renowned chicken rice eateries/stalls, but still a good effort overall in attempts to replicate that familiar taste. The beer can chicken leg is pretty large in size; rubbed in a dry spice mix, the chicken was succulent and juicy with hints of pepper and carrying flavours similar to piri-piri with a hint of maltiness from the beer — an interesting fusion with the rice; yet another item that would work well with the craft beer selection here.

Chocolate Cube Hazelnut Latte ($9), a glass of frozen chocolate cubes along side a bottle of steamed milk and hazelnut espresso, you can choose how strong you like your latte to be. Full-bodied and smooth, this makes a great perk-me-up drink. Thanks, @yongweikai for indulging us in all these dark cocoa dessert!
