Flavourful and well spiced, the spiciness from the incorporation of the chilli hits as an aftertaste at the right note, not too overwhelming nor mild. Glad that it wasnā€™t too oily too, which is usually my greatest fear in aglio olio. The crabmeat chunks were fresh, juicy with a characteristic seafood-sque sweetness that is a great complement to the pasta. Prices are rather steep here but quality is not compromised! .

$15 or more for two tacos may sound pricey, but these tacos from Afterwit are not your usual affair - there's actually a substantial amount of filling hidden within the folded 6" tortilla shells! Ordered the Carne Tirada ($17) and Cangrejo ($17) to share with a friend (thanks Burpple Beyond for the 1-for-1!), and both of us really liked what we got. The former contains root beer braised beef, which was deep in flavour, while the latter contained juicy mud crab chunks that were flavourful despite having no sauce or gravy. These tacos make a great option for light-eaters - get the burrito instead if you're hungry!

End your year with some yummy pasta from Kava Coffee.

Personally, I am a fan of cabonara and when I saw their menu that they serve seafood cream pasta ($14), instantly I am excited to try it.

Both mum and myself were impressed by their pasta as we did not feel sian/ jelat after having a few mouth of it. Moreover, the chef is really generous with the portion of the noodles and the seafood were fresh!

I recommend ordering this if you visit @tiposg, think itā€™s the safest and yummiest dish on the menu šŸ˜‹ The shredded slow cooked beef is tender and the sauce to pasta ratio is just nice šŸ˜ The portion isnā€™t big so thereā€™s still room for dessert!

Meat and Mash - Each tender lamb cube is nicely grilled, and possessed a smoky aroma.

While we find the heap of fettuccine a tad too salty, the noodles are cooked al dente and the creamy sauce further brings our the natural sweetness of the lobster meat. The larger portioned dish is suitable for sharing between 2 pax.

Found this tucked away in the back of ABC and knew I had to try it. The image isnā€™t really accurate because this Burger also comes with tomato and lettuce but I asked them to take it away because me and raw vegetables arenā€™t friends.

Anyway, this burger was huge. Like half my face huge. Thatā€™s probably because of the patty, which was very thick, very juicy, and very flavourful. It was topped with wonderful gooey cheese and sandwiches between two very light buns. It also comes with fries, but I donā€™t have much to say about that. The burger is definitely the main star.

I loved this and will probably be back to try more!

Okay I agree it looks interesting but unfortunately it taste really ordinary. The burger itself uses the manufactured ingredients, yet it charged for higher price. Perhaps you should just try their other western foods on the menu instead.

Went on a pretty unfortunate day where we only had the option of a beef rice bowl..

It sure looks pretty.

Thought the cardamom grains were heavily reminiscent of the familiar briyani rice haha.

The beef was very salty.

While the tomato salsa was honestly spoilt :(

2/10

I only actually liked the cutely shaped pappadum.

So fresh so clean and so tasty! Pick and choose from a list of ingredients to customise your own bowls. Iā€™d recommend getting the soba with tom yum dressing here. The noodles are smooth with the right amount of bite, and when theyā€™re slick in that tangy, slightly fiery sauce ā€” delish! All meats and fish (except their baked Dory) are made with a sous vide machine here, which makes for stellar doneness. A great affordable and healthy option. Owner and Chef, Shannen, is also very friendly and accommodating ā€” thanks for having us!

Good and halal-certified burgers!

I was browsing Golden Mile Food Centre and I noticed the long queue snaking from Burgs, a Muslim-owned stall selling burgers. The kiasuness in me told me to join the queue not knowing what I was getting into.

I had ordered the double version Burgsā€™ bacon & cheese burger. I was set back by 30 minutes from the queueing and waiting for collection. My friends had all finished their respective meals by the time I got my food. So was it worth the wait?

Now both the beef patties were perfect and extremely juicy. Almost impossible not to make a mess. The large strips of beef bacon were a blessing atop the melted American cheese and BBQ sauce. It was a really beautiful burger. But was it worth 30 minutes? Not really. Youā€™re better off trying many other great options around the food centre but I must say that Burgs is still a must-try.

I finally found the time to try out Taufik Batisahā€™s new f&b venture: @chixhotchicken! Helmed as the go-to place for unique Nashville fried chicken, do satisfy your fried chicken craving right here in Bugis! A must-try is their Soul Sliders ($12.90) that comes with 2 buns and the most crispy, juicy, and tender boneless fried chicken everšŸ˜« They topped the sliders with some pickles (that surprisingly went really well with the sliders!), slaw, and pink mayo. Awesome combination! We also tried their Nashville fried chicken wings ($10.90 for 3 wings) and since Iā€™m a wuss, I chose the Mild Hotness spicy level. It was not spicy at all so itā€™s great for people who canā€™t really stand spicy food. The chicken was really fresh and the wings were decently seasoned though I would recommend getting their Quarter size for a more worth-it meal. Perhaps a more spicy level would give that additional kick! Pair your meal with their extra thick and creamy Vanilla milkshake ($5.90). Perfect combination šŸ˜‹
