I know PJ is HUGE, but just to give you a rough idea on where these places are. Excluding Subang and UpTown! Because I have a list on that specifically.

Ribs and sandwiches as fast food? We gotcha.
At Ticklish Ribs, you have a party of porky-ness where cut out ribs are served creatively in a bucket and a subway sandwich made fresh at the counter with your choice of porky meat.
Their signature BBQ Ribs comes in full rack (6 ribs) and half rack (3 ribs) at RM 38 and RM 20 respectively. Half rack is really not enough and very little. Not quite sure if they gave a full rack because my full rack of ribs order seemed very little! Available in spicy and not. However, their "spicy" is not spicy at all. No heat. With this impression I doubt their "not really" or non spicy will be flavorful. However, ribs are undeniably tender, easy to eat and dirty your fingers with the rib sticks!
Ticklish Ribs pork sandwich is pure pork meat and bread subs. 7 choices of mean from the scale of fatty ribs and pork leg to lean loins. Their choices are extensive I suggest taking your time checking out their menu @ticklishribs! Recommended from the staff are "pull your leg" and "you braised me up"; punny I know 😝 I had "pull your leg", which is basically pulled pork in BBQ sauce, in charcoal bread with an add on of caramelized onions. There's three types of bread offered namely wholemeal, white, and charcoal. Their charcoal bread tasted really weird to be honest. I won't recommend it but advice to choose wholemeal or white bread for their sandwich. Prices vary depending on your meat of choice. A bummer how it's just pure meat and bread, without any lettuce or tomatoes. Caramelized onions was incredibly salty too!
Something I disliked is their food are ALL very salty! Even my friend who has higher "sodium tolerance" thinks it's very salty. Especially the pulled pork. Ticklish Ribs gotta tone down their salt or people are gonna get stones.
Free flow of soda and a choice of fries/garlic bites in their set menu. OMG their fries were covered in too much salt too! 😓 Food: 6/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 38 full rack ribs; RM 16 pulled pork sandwich - prices are quite reasonable but the ribs at Naughty Nuri's is much cheaper and more in portion of a "full rack"

Lol

Actually, the only few hot items on their menu was the big breakfast and smoked salmon with eggs on toast for breakfast, and two choices of pasta for more heavy options.
A variety of anything you'd get in a basic big breakfast. Baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, sausages, hash browns, eggs, and toast.
Their baked beans tasted delicious and sweet, positive it's not homemade but it was quality and delicious enough. One sausage cut into half. It was delicious and flavourful, another highlight of the whole breakfast, but really little and stingy maybe? A choice of chicken sausage or beef bacon. I guess you could have both by paying more!
Sautéed mushrooms bland but I guess that's why you get salt and pepper on the side to add to your taste.
The only thing that was quite a bummer was the sourdough bread was all soggy as they placed the scrambled eggs on top of the toast. The crust of the bread was very hard too!
Nothing much to say about the other components but definitely better than some cafes with poor baked beans, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes or cheap sausages.
Food: 6/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 25 - I'm surprised how expensive this new cafe is. The ingredients were rather simple hence I wonder maybe their cost is high for being new to the industry. But with so much components, I'll give them some credits. Big breakfasts are always this expensive in every cafes.) Some people might say "I could cook this at home for you, and it won't cost as much" Hmm figures?

I was attracted to their wide range of pastries selection and lucky enough that their pastries just arrived when I got there! Although I could've ordered the Danishes and other sweet things, my peculiar mind decided on the simple cheese and mushroom bread (Top right), the Panettone (Bottom right), with a cup of cappuccino.
The mushroom bread wasn't really special and quite bland. Kind of regretted for ordering that but I just wanted something savoury.
The panettone, is a sweet bread loaf, dessert cake, with candied fruits and raisins. There was a choice of either with cinnamon and without. I had the one without cinnamon and it was very fluffy! Actually liked the panettone but it was expensive for a small bread.
This cappuccino was mild tasting and not very acidic. I've lost my sense of profiling for coffee but what I was told about bubbling coffee surface is either the beans are too fresh, or the milk wasn't nicely stretched.
Lots of room for improvements for this cafe!
Food: 6/10 Price: 5/10 (RM 10 - cappuccino, RM 5 - mushroom & cheese bread, RM 6 panettone; the Danishes and cakes looked more appetising. To be honest I did regret my lame choice of bread here! 😅)

But I sure would love to come back. If only it wasn't so far away!
Although a little too sweet for my taste, but it was a good blend of coffee and chocolate. Pure indulgence! Definitely for someone's sweet chocolate cravings.
Was told it was a little like coffee bean's mocha frappuccino. I agree! But that's not a bad comment. Coffee bean's mocha trap is delicious!
Had a little taste of their flat white too. Gotta admit their coffee is good!
Coffee: 7/10 Price: 7/10 (forgot the price! But it was reasonable for huge tasty mocha in a mason jar)

A colourful mix of lettuce leaves, onions and tomatoes, blended in with perfectly seasoned and grilled teriyaki chicken, dressed with my favourite Japanese sesame dressing, last but not least topped with onsen egg aka soft boiled egg.
Delicious and balanced meal. It can be a main because of its big portion. But could be done better it the salad wasn't so drenched with sesame dressing. My mistake for not calling it on the side!
I'm surprised by the portion and all the food variety offered at 103 cafe. The house was almost full at 7pm onwards on a Friday too!
Food: 8/10 Price: 7/10 (RM16++ for such a huge bowl of salad. I usually don't like paying so much for a bunch of veggies and protein. But this was generous and tasted delicious. Plus, that's the price for eating out nowadays ain't it?)

My combustion for Shrooms was: Toasted buns and bockwurst pork sausage.
Topped with a medley of grilled portobello mushrooms, mushrooms, and enoki mushroom.

This was a recommended and bestseller menu. Also one of my personal favourites! As recommended, the toasted buns would complement the delicious bockwurst pork sausage. The bockwurst is smoked, with smooth texture pork meat and great crunchy snap sound at bite. Talk about great texture and flavour. Since the sausages are fully customised by the owners, they are nitrate free and not too salty as those in supermarket delis. Definitely more protein filling and taste. It wasn't too porky. The bockwurst was a winner for me among all that I've tried.

The sausage was about 4 inches long and 1 inch of diameter thick. So generous!
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 14.50 - prices are quite affordable to be given such a delicious combination and portion. The bun may seem quite small but one hot dog combo is really enough to stuff an average appetite. I don't mind paying for a gourmet hot dog. Just like how we pay for gourmet "geek" burgers 😉)

Head over to the new Thai Fusion semi-fine dining restaurant, KomPassion at Damansara Kim! Same row as kitchen table restaurant & bakery, and eurodeli.
Opened daily for lunch from 11.30am - 3.00pm; and dinner 6.00pm - 10.00pm.
I went over during lunch and it was already rather packed. Since it was my first time here, it gave me the impression that this place is good because of the crowd. And also their affordable set lunch menu ranging from RM 13.90 to RM 18.90.

Featured is the seafood Tom Yum noodle. The soup was a nice blend of sweet and sour, a kick of spicy but manageable.
I like the fresh seafood given as well as the nice translucent Tom yum broth, that proves that it's not fully loaded with evaporated milk.
For a person that doesn't take spicy food, this was delicious and at its best level of spicyness. However, pure fans of tom yum noodles would prefer it to be more sour and spicy.
Food: 7/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 15.90 set lunch with a drink. However, the ala-carte menu at KomPassion is very expensive, with the highest that I've seen on the menu at RM 70 for a duck pasta.)

That’s what my first impression told me when the dish came out of the kitchen.

Spaghetti tossed with homemade creamy white sauce, homemade smoked bacon, grated parmesan cheese, topped with a poached egg.
Only two crispy pork strips on top and very minimal bacon in the sauce altogether. Pasta was not too bad. Creamy but a little bland. Would prefer if they did not dry up and stuck all together. Kudos to perfectly poached eggs though!

Food: 7/10 Price: 6/10 (RM22 – what a bomb for a small pasta. It’s already the price of the buffet I went at Kelana Jaya (Rm 19.90 ex. GST)

I was quite surprised at first when I found out this place serves pork (non-halal) because most cafes these days cater to all Malaysian.

Fried mantou buns served with pork belly, tangy som tam (Thai young mango and papaya salad). Quite a nice twist to usual cafes and having Asian fusion starters are a plus. Seeing so many good reviews about their pork bun, I must try it myself. I’m sorry for being the party pooper here because I honestly think it did not do its fame justice. Pork belly was only a square of pure fat in every buns, only bits and pieces of nicely charred pork. Pork belly has 3 layers, the fat and meat alternating. I only got the fats in every bun. Sigh

Luckily the fried mantou was not soaked in oil despite being fried. Every bite and squeeze did not ooze out with oil. Good job! The tangy somtam and sweet sauce brought this appetiser together with great flavour. It would have been better if the pork belly was equally ‘distributed’. Having this as a starter can be rather filling already since it has bread and meat in it. I was quite stuffed but addicted to the mantou. Still ended up finishing my share, knowing I still have a pasta and burger to combat through.

Food: 6/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 15 – G&G does not charge GST. At this price, you get 3 fried mantou with pork belly. RM 5 for each. Is it worth it? You be the judge. Toppings and fillings might not be consistent. Maybe you like pork fats? Or get better parts of the pork belly on your visit and have higher satisfaction then me. Then it’s all good!)

Not the best texture for a burger. My favourite is at Kissaten but the prices have been increasing and I have not revisited since forever.
Gee & Geek's burger tasted alright but it was nothing amazing to shout about. I am not sure if the white sauce is the cheese sauce or just a blab of mayonnaise. It didn't taste like anything delicious or bad. It was just very oily and soaked up the bun at the bottom, being very soggy. 😓 I kind of think this burger was made half heartedly because of the sloppy presentation and sloppy arrangement. Had to move the bun and adjust a little for a presentable photo! Mayonnaise was spreader quickly and messily on the bun. A layer of vegetables, lettuce, patty, egg, and very little caramelised onion.
Come on. Don't be stingy with the caramelised onions if you're serving a burger. The patty was seasoned fairly well. It not bad but it didn't impress me and I don't understand how a signature can be this mediocre.
A note on the side salad: Plain green. No tomatoes, just a dash of balsamic vinegar, and not fresh romaine lettuce. Was very disappointed when I tasted the greeny, old, and soil taste from the raw vegetable.
Food: 6/10 Price: 5/10 (RM 22 - I wouldn't recommend the burger for its price and the experience I had from eating this. It was a huge let down.)

Something to balance out your dinner!
This was delicious and fresh. I like how the cauliflowers were still soft and tender, NOT over baked. I dislike celery but it was thinly cut in this dish so it was edible. Complements the cauliflower well too!
But I am not a huge fan or coriander leaves so I put it aside. Apart from that, it's a delicious roasted veggie!
Food: 8/10 Price: 5/10 (RM 22 - quite expensive for about half a stalk of roasted cauliflower.)

Shell pasta with Shimeiji Mushroom, oyster mushrooms, miso butter, and soft egg.
This pasta is the bomb! Pasta was perfectly al dente and the miso shutter really brings up the flavour in everything! It is something like a basic mushroom pasta with some Asian twist. Love this! The cream sauce wasn't too thick either. There's an amazing yolk sauce too once you break open the perfectly soft boiled egg.
Their large dinner plates are for sharing. But if you have a big appetite I think you can finish it by yourself. No wrong to it! Great portion. Delicious!
Food: 8/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 32 - I admit their dinner menu is more expensive compared to brunch. But sharing with your date or family wouldn't be too bad for great pasta!)
