Very similar to the egg tart, the difference is in its texture. The bean curd tart is extremely smooth and light. The filling literally melts in your mouth owing to the soft texture of bean curd vs custard. Comes in 10 other varieties. Delicious served hot or cold. (90 cals/tart) ($10.00/box of 8) #yumyumyap #sgfoodie #localdelight #beancurdtart #dessert
Deep fried whitebait in batter served with tartar sauce. Like eating tiny fish fillets. (50 cals / 10 pieces w/o tartar sauce) #yumyumyap #sgfoodie #barfood #thepelican
I was a bit skeptical but it turned out to be surprisingly tasty. A bit like bak kwa but slightly crispier - (76 cals / 25g)
Unlike your standard fare, this version is light on the gravy and served with a mixture of thin yellow noodles and thick bee hoon. Before eating, make sure you mix the Sambal in and "toss" the noodles to capture all flavors! Adding the line is optional. ($4) (522 cals / plate) #yumyumyap #hokkienmee #sgfoodie #calories
Crispy Carrot Cake - The "cake" is pre-fried until crispy then whipped into a bowl of eggs. It is then fried again until it is crispy after which a thin layer of Sambal chilli is spread on top. ($2/3/4) (150 cals/100g) #yumyumyap #carrotcake #sgfoodie
Marsiling Teochew Slice Fish Soup (389 calories for (M) size with bee hoon) - One of the stalls at Yong Heng food court in the middle of an industrial, the lunch time queue for this noodle soup is ridiculously long everyday. But once you've had a taste, you'll know why. The all important soup is not too milky or oily and wonderfully tasty with their use of ginger and bitter gourd with optional black bean. And while there's nothing really special about the fish or noodles, they add in deep fried egg white which makes this dish a real winner! You may choose from a variety of six noodle types as well as having boiled fish, fried fish, a combo of both (called twins) or fried fish head. Really calorie friendly for a satisfying meal. ($4.00(S), $5.00(M), $6.00(L)). #yumyumyap #calories #foodie #foodporn #goodfood #yummy #sgfood #sgfoodie #singapore #noodles #marsiling #asian #local #teochew #slicedfish #soup
Osaka-yaki Burger (550 calories) - This recent "special" addition to the Mos Burger menu is quite interesting. As far as I can tell, the deep fried pattie is made of fish and carrots and a stalky green veg. On top of that is a fried egg, a layer of katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes), cabbage and japanese mayonnaise. Not exactly your standard burger but really tasty. This burger comes with bun or rice cakes. ($4.30 bun/$4.65 rice cakes). #yumyumyap #calories #foodie #foodporn #goodfood #yummy #sgfood #sgfoodie #singapore #fastfood #mosburger #fusion #asian #western #burger #osakayaki
Llaollao Sanum (Avg 250 calories depending add-ons) - Everything Llaollao has to offer is based on their frozen yogurt which is supposedly made from skim milk which makes their entire menu super calorie friendly (100g of their softserve yogurt is 103 cals). The Sanum is the yogurt plus a "crunch" (which can be anything from nuts to seeds to chocolate chips) plus three choices of fresh fruits and one topping from quite an interesting selection (including coffee syrup). The yogurt itself was surprisingly smooth, thick and creamy, not at all what I expected from skim milk yogurt. ($6.50). #yumyumyap #calories #foodie #foodporn #goodfood #yummy #sgfood #sgfoodie #singapore #dessert #llaollao #western #european #frozenyogurt #fruits #softserve
Thai Wanton Mee (688 calories / large bowl) - The calories in this dish is higher than your normal dry wanton mee because of the deep fried wantons, deep fried pork rinds and deep fried chinese sausage. Yes, it is sinful as hell but it tastes soooo good! ($3.50(S)/$4.00(M)/$5.00(L)). #yumyumyap #calories #foodie #foodporn #goodfood #yummy #sgfood #sgfoodie #singapore #local #soi19 #asian #thai #wantonmee
