I've had coffee at many cafes but this is the first time the barista personally came over to help me appreciate my cuppa better. Plus the barista is really pretty to boot! 😁 It's so nice how Artisan C Specialty Coffee, newly renamed as The Art Space Specialty Coffee by Artisan C, tries to bring its patrons a more fulfilling coffee experience by recommending beans and suggesting different ways to enjoy our coffee. On this occasion, I had the Dirty, which comprised of espresso and chilled milk ($6++). Following the barista's suggestions, I got to experience the robust and bitter espresso in my first sip, a fuller and creamier second sip and finally, a silky smooth gulp of coffee. It was fun albeit slightly awkward at first. 😂 The coffee's also excellent - nutty and not too acidic, the way I like it. While you are here, do have some savoury bites. I personally recommend their Signature Seoul Beef Burger ($10.90++), which was beef bulgogi sandwiched in a crisp and tasty bun, and came with a side of yummy honey butter fries. If you like a good spicy kick, have the Art Spice Burger ($10.90++), which is a Korean-inspired pork burger. Very tasty as well but a little too spicy for me! Last but not least, if you just want something light to munch on, the Kimchi Croissant (about $6 😐) is an odd combination that worked surprisingly well. Oh and Artisan C makes its own kimchi! Very impressive. 😌 Thank you Artisan C for hosting and Burpple for the invitation! ☕️
Stumbled upon this cafe after an unsuccessful visit to Flor at Duxton (PSA: It's closed for renovations till 25th June!), and it turned out to be a cosy place for long conversations on a weekday night because it was really quiet. I couldn't find any fault with my latte, which wasn't too acidic or bitter. The mains offered at the cafe look pretty good. I may be back to try them :)
Such interesting names they have for their spice teas! This one is supposed to be good for your digestive system. This tasted very very mild, so those who aren't fond of heavily spiced beverages need not be afraid to try it. Personally though, I would have liked a stronger drink.
Who would have expected such nice latte art from McCafe? ;)
Happy weekend!!!
Not the biggest fan of black coffee, but this was ok - strong enough and only mildly acidic. Found it quite expensive at $3 for a tiny cup!
Some of my peers swear by Assembly's coffee. But I don't like it much :( this latte was very milky (not necessarily a bad thing), but the coffee lacked body and was just bitter (bad thing, for me at least). 😟 As you can probably tell, I had a pretty bad visit today.
Smooth and creamy. It has a good balance of coffee and chocolate :)
Little details like this teaspoon make the cafe. ;)
Wonderfully smooth and velvety, and most importantly (for me), non-acidic! Three Hands Coffee uses beans from Oriole.
I couldn't find my usual latte on the menu so I went for the closest thing! Miam miam has a rather limited drinks menu. I'm not a coffee connoisseur so I'm not very sure what Au Lait means, and I'll now attempt to review this cup of caffeine. :b The coffee was very mild - it was not acidic at all and minimally bitter. It had a nutty aroma, which I liked :) probably not for people who like their coffees strong though.
There's a new vending machine at Star Vista (basement, right next to Marble Slab Creamery) that sells freshly squeezed orange juice. The machine has a stock of USA Sunkist oranges, and when you buy a cup of juice, it dispenses an orange, halves it, and juices it, so on and so forth until it gets a full cup of orange juice. Then it seals the cup, bubble tea style :b My cup took 5 oranges while my dad's took 3 oranges hahaha. Super awesome! $3.60 for 350ml of pure freshly squeezed juice, no water or sugar added. :) The oranges are kept chilled within the machine, and replenished daily. Can't wait for them to come up with an apple juice version of this!
