Must Visit Cafés

Walk into creamier and you will be greeted by the smell of waffles and you can't help but order it. Love the fluffy waffles but it could be slightly more crisp on the exterior. Though I hoped that they gave the option of just getting one rectangle, so that I can secretly sneak there and have one rectangle and one 🍦 all to myself. 2 rectangles force me to share.(🙊sometimes you just need some alone time w your sweets) Love the ice cream as well, one of my favouritest flavour there. Sweet and creamy with a slight salty note.

Waffles here are really crisp and airy. I don't usually like my waffles to be so crisp, but the fragrance of the batter really won me over. Note: this isn't the fluffy doughy waffles you'll expect! The crunch goes really well with the earthy, not overly sweet caramel sauce and light vanilla ice cream. The macaron though pretty, was too chewy for my liking. Definitely $9.90 well spent!

Set in a surprising area of Holland Village, right in front of the MRT exit, this eco-friendly cafe/bar is a nice respite amidst nature. Serving all-day breakfast, this cafe transforms into a bar at night with an extensive variety of drinks.

Nestled in a quiet residential area in Bukit Timah, this cafe offers an escape from the buzz of traffic and fast-paced city life. It hosts a relaxed environment for out-of-office work or some enjoyable book-reading. Try their innovative take on iced espresso in milk, which involves frozen cubes of espresso, served with a small jar of chilled milk to pour in as you wish.

Symmetry along Jalan Kubor is possibly one of our little island's hippest hidden gems. With its distressed bricked walls and rustic-like vibe, the space spells indie and contemporary, and is just different from the rest without trying too hard. Symmetry holds its own with character and attitude, and stands by its mantra of being a 'humane' restaurant by serving up organic eggs and grass-fed beef. Favourites include the Flan which features chunks of tender pork cheek confit, and their luscious Eggs Ben. *Brunch available on weekends only!

This place is a hidden gem in the East. Their earl grey cake goes really well with their coffees.

Buttered toast topped with poached eggs and ham with grilled tomatoes and stewed mushrooms aside. The eggs were runny and the hollandaise sauce was lightly flavoured.
There's something's unique about this Stateland Eggs Benedict, which I really enjoyed was the homemade jam. It was tangy and added a savoury flavor to the dish.

Head over to this institution in Robertson Quay and get yourself a nice seat at the communal table. Begin the day by choosing from their wide variety of excellent coffees and teas, and fill your tummy with a skillet of Moroccan baked eggs.

Served with really thick slices of smoked salmon and their homemade honey jam!

We have to say that Strangers' Reunion simply does the best waffles in Singapore. Don't let that distract you from the amazing cup of coffee you're bound to get here, seeing it comes from our National Barista Champion, Ryan Tan. You won't be disappointed. * Strangers' has recently renovated, go check out their new menu and bigger space!

The warm, earnest attitude at Penny U is something you pick up on quickly once stepping into this homey space. These guys don't believe in mass production, and have a small, rotating selection of desserts from artisanal bakers around Singapore. Inspired by the cafes in London, Penny U spearheaded the cafe culture in the East, and is already highly regarded by cafe lovers- Easties and Westies alike.
