Not because it is one of the yummiest, but it's definitely one of the ridiculously cheapest. Situated in ITE Central (AMK), the casual, foodcourt style setting, serve a decently wide range of marinated meat, and whatnot. In fact, because of the huge turnover rate, their prawns and squid are quite fresh, crunchy and not at all mushy (as some would expect from frozen, thawed-for-days Seafood). $20/pax nett, what more can you ask for.
Clean, and decent. Brightly lit, and bare interior, shouldn't deter you away. The service is great, quick to response and very fast in clearing the dishes, leaving you space to grab more food.
Well marinated with sesame oil, sesame seeds and garlic, their meat is quite delicious. Ingredients are fresh, and I absolutely love their freshwater crayfish, small, fresh enough, firm and crunchy. I orders rounds of it.
Recently, they introduce a tom yum soup base, which was decent but as you keep cooking, the soup turned extremely sour that even my mom disapproved. I think they should return to the drawing board to tweak the broth. I'm still sticking to the chicken broth, light and still the best after the grilled meat oil dripped into the soup sexy and seductively.
Nachos cheese blend, is seriously, I repeat, seriously addictive and highly sinful and overly blood vessel clotting. Everything just went well with the nachos cheese sauce, and I mean literally everything. From their deep fried food (we had popcorn chicken, just so good) to their grilled pork belly and even their "abalone" which my Brother vouch for taste yummy with that nachos cheese sauce.
Be warned, you will definitely feel fat after the meal, but leaving the place absolutely happy.
Returned for the buffet. When you have such a friendly Chef and a quaint small run-down place, I tend to return for the good vibes. Previously I mention that the ratio of rice and meat was unbalanced, returning because of a friend's craving and somehow his proportion is so much better. Smaller and bit-size, the Chef allow you to have more stomach space to try everything on the menu. Particularly, I love this pitan tofu. Small, smooth and obliviously good. The century egg is mild, which make this dish a good starter or in betweens.
My girlfriend had a small craving for beef (cause her boyfriend couldn't take any), so armed with her we search for some good Japanese place for some beef. Casually walking past this small outdoor joint, and see a fair bit of Japanese grilling their meat, we decided to give it a try. They dropped their price from a $100 to $50, and we were like "hey why not!" Let me start with the service, their service staff are slow, and because we are on the outside, it's hard to get hold of any (if the staff are lingering around). Most of them hide inside the restaurant. They cannot seemed to get our ordered right, and numerous times leaving out plenty that we asked for. Now when it comes to the 1st ordering, they forcefully want you to take their pre-set plates of mixture of meat (in which we argued with the waiting staff). Honestly we are here for the beef, but they insisted that we have to take the other types of meat as well. Anyways, we won this small battle (citing many reasonable argumentative points). The meat that came out where inconsistent with every plating served, obviously they mix various type marbling beef together. And the Wagyu marbling they served weren't impressive. The only saving grace was probably the plate of ox tongue (cause you can never go wrong with it). BUT I have to stress my disappointment. They controlled the number of plating served to each table. (We only have 3 servings). The staff simply wave off as it was the last plate left. Honestly? For a buffet joint? A big NO-NO. We demanded a proper explanation, and thankfully a nicer staff explained that they have a low supply of ox tongue, and that they have to control the supply that are going out. Unhappy, but unable to do anything since he was sincere and nice. Go if you want to have a cheap Japanese BBQ buffet, or else don't bothered cause I am sure there are way better ones around.
Cheap, but unimpressive. The seafood were a disappointment, that you can virtually taste them being frozen and lacking. And while, I give some credits to the herbal chicken soup broth, but honestly everything else is below average.
The rice is on the thick side, in comparison of the meat and rice ratio.. They serve winning sushi, like all their aburi are amazing, and so are their mentaiko is sedap. Sashimi are gorgeous (but sadly only one serving per pax), and their chawamushi is so wobbly and beautiful. Overall for the price you pay ($39.90), I think it's worth it.
Cold wet and aimless, we decided to sit down and have a long early dinner. For the price of $45++, this place is not stingy on the quality and portion. I swear those meat gave us a huge scare, but at a table of four we successfully conquered the plates. Didn't took a picture of the tiger prawns which are the freshest and biggest I have ever seen on a buffet menu. SO WORTH EVERY PENNY. Please take note, the chicken soup base is a waste of time. Do take their tonkotsu soup base which is definitely full in flavor.
Cheaper version of haidilao, with that French gel manicure? Sold sold sold! That tomato soup is so superb, that I don't mind going back for more. But in all, it's decent and clean enough. Nothing overly special or exciting. Self-service because they are shortage of staff, and a small menu. But for $19 (+$4, for the sauces), whose to complain.
What can I say? Full blown dinner, with extreme flavors, sight and smell. A great place for a romantic dinner, or a celebration.
For all those Italian lover, this is the place to go. It's a semi-buffet, meaning you choose your mains. And the appetizers and dessert is "free-flow". Don't be mistaken with the quality here, it's top notch and never fail to impress from the service to the food. And personally been here a few times already, this recent trip topped it all. The mains were simply too delicious that no words can describe it. I have a feeling that the restaurant had a change in chef, and the mains were impeccable. Damn I am drooling already.
One of the better ones in Singapore, I feel. Clean and decent! Especially love it that they still used the traditional charcoal, instead of the disappointing gas types! Golden mile what?
One of the cheapest and authentic Korean BBQ place. When it's run by the Koreans, you know that it's good. The kimchi tastes amazing, and the glorious meat do taste like what I had in Korea. Make reservations, as it's always full-house.
