Of savoury sticky sauce w a tinge of sweetness. Other than their popular frog's legs, they have a huge range of zi char dishes. But if you order too few dishes for a big group, you will be frowned upon and pushed to order more. Still a great place for rumbling tummies at night and huge groups! #burpplesglatenight

Have you had such a long morning and had meetings way passed lunch time? And all you want is something heart warming. Although the noodles was a bit mushy and the soup was a bit salty, the copious amounts of vegetables, prawn, clam and pork made up for it.

The hokkien mee that I grew up with finally reopened! Just like what I remember it to be! Amazing chilli and noodles!

Maybe I made it look very delicious. Someone came over to ask me where I got it from while I was eating. Well, it really was quite good. Chunky fish meat, tasty ngoh hiang. Everything just goes well together 👍👍

Couldn't decide what to eat because nothing seemed overly appetizing and nothing was famous at west coast market square. Was drawn to the sweet & sour pork because I have a weakness for it. Then I asked if they have vege and they said they can add if I want. Yay to additional vege w/o extra charge. We all need a balanced meal. The pork was pretty good! Sweet and sour sauce and crunchy pork. Plus I like how they cooked the egg, poached instead of fried. Slightly sinful but the rest makes up for it :)

Although there were only 3 oysters, at least it was big and quite fresh. The starch vs egg ratio was just nice and it wasn't overly oily.

I love it when there is braised rice for duck rice, but sadly there's no yam chunks inside this. Duck is tender and well braised. One of the must haves in east coast lagoon hawker!

It's funny how my family came all the way to Toa Payoh to eat bak kut teh though we stay along balestier. But the bak kut teh is not bad! You can really taste the herbalness of the soup and it's not over peppery or salty like some other bak kut tehs.

The filling is definitely Hakka, meaty but one dimensional. They should have added water chestnut for a bit of crunch. The biggest disappointment is to find out that they use the sweet red sauce like other Yong tau foo. Hakka Yong tau foo should use a soya bean sauce rather than the red sauce... Did not justify the 15 minutes that I spent queuing up :/

Self made popiah skin that is almost paper thin, allowing the ingredients to burst in your mouth when you bite through it. 😋

Put hokkien mee in a claypot and add sio bak. Simply irresistible. When my friend and I saw it, we thought we won't be able to finish it(we are two small sized girls). Before we knew it... We finished the whole pot haha!

First meal since I came back from Myanmar. There's something therapeutic abt this bowl of lontong. Super fragrant but in a light way.
