Signature Kolo Mee ($5.50) from Lin Yu Mei - now this is probably the best Kolo Mee I've had. The noodles were perfectly springy, well tossed in shallot and lard oil while not being too oily and the chilli was amazing. It was very fiery, and yet it had a beautiful aroma which made this dish even better. Never mind the minced meat and char siu, just give me their noodles and chilli and I will be a happy man.
(L Size - $5.50) I got L size lol bc I felt hungry ~ I felt that kolo mee don't much sauce :") probably I didn't add chili inside the noodle. But I felt noodle was quite a lot but not for ingredients :")
The noodle comes with char siew, minced pork, lard, fried shallots, spring onions and an optional dollop of their homemade fiery chilli. The curly egg noodles are tossed in soy sauce and shallot oil that makes it very fragrant. It is also very Q (springy) with a firm bite and it does not have any preservatives/alkaline taste. Their takeaway packaging is as simple as wrapping the noodles on a piece of plastic and tying a knot on top 》$5 / Large
Kolo Mee (S$5/ M) x 2
Love the noodles. Mom only wanted to know why no accompanying broth. The amount of chilli sauce seemed less today. Remember the last time I had at the stall the whole dish was full of chilli sauce.
Laksa (S$6.50)
Serves with thin bee hoon, shredded chicken, shredded fried omelette, bean sprouts and prawns
