Ordered the kampung chicken, Sambal gui miao, claypot brinjal and hainanese pork chop. All the dishes did not disappoint! Was pleasantly surprised by the sambal gui miao - sambal was spicy enough to give a slight kick, but not overpowering the whole dish. The beans were crisp and nicely cooked, was definitely one of the best renditions of such a simple dish i've ever had. Their chicken rice chilli was also fragrant and gave a nice kick to all the dishes, will be back to try more of their extensive menu!
Everything was so flavourful and delicious. Typical zi char pricing but in an air-conditioned space!! I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and I highly recommend their mega homemade ice lemon tea to pair with all their savoury delights!! Definitely coming back again in the future to try more of their food 😋😁
Had such a great visit to Le Cheng, I really enjoyed the chicken rice and the soup! It was super hearty and the chicken rice was a 10/10.
Went to Le Cheng recently w my partner. We ordered a variety of dishes such as white pepper claypot chicken, 3 cup chicken, half chicken and cai Poh omelette.
The food portions were big, tasted great and pairs well with the fragrant chicken rice. Chicken was tender and flavourful.
I recently visited Le Cheng Hainanese Chicken Rice and tried three dishes: the half kampung chicken, hotplate tofu, and braised pork belly with preserved vegetables.
Half Kampung Chicken
The kampung chicken was tender and flavorful, with a natural taste that stood out. The light soy sauce added just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the chicken, and the rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked.
Hotplate Tofu
The hotplate tofu came sizzling hot, with soft tofu that had a slight crispy edge. It was served with a savory sauce, minced meat, and vegetables, making it a nice, hearty dish.
Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables
The braised pork belly was rich and melt-in-your-mouth tender, while the preserved vegetables added a tangy kick that balanced the dish well.
Overall, Le Cheng offers great, no-fuss local dishes that hit the spot if you're craving something comforting and satisfying.
Le Cheng Hainanese Chicken Rice offers a delightful culinary experience that showcases the best of Hainanese cuisine.
The star of the show, of course, is the half kampung chicken. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. The accompanying sauces, including chilli, dark soy sauce, and ginger, added a nice depth of flavour, perfectly complementing the delicate taste of the chicken. The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and soaked up the flavours of the chicken juices.
Another standout dish was the hotplate tofu. The tofu was soft and silky, with a subtle sweetness complemented by the savoury sauce and a variety of vegetables. The preserved vegetable with pork belly was another delicious option. The preserved vegetables provided a tangy and slightly bitter contrast to the rich and fatty pork belly. The combination of flavours was well-balanced and satisfying.
Overall, Le Cheng Hainanese Chicken Rice is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Hainanese cuisine in Singapore. The quality of the food, the friendly service, and the cosy atmosphere make it a memorable dining experience.
