I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gunther's Restaurant, indulging in a meticulously crafted 4-course meal that left me thoroughly impressed. Each dish was a testament to the artistry and thoughtfulness that goes into French fine dining.

Starters: The meal began with a series of starters that were as visually stunning as they were delicious. The Smoked Toretama egg paired with seared toro and a sweet-sour sauce was a perfect balance of rich and refreshing flavors. The gratinated Cevennes onion was a revelation—sweet, delicate, and with a depth that only a perfectly cooked onion can achieve. However, the star of the starters for me was the Cold Angel hair pasta with Oscietra caviar. The pasta’s lightness paired with the briny richness of the caviar made it an unforgettable bite. Rounding off the starters was the Roasted scallop in the shell, cooked to perfection and delicately seasoned with herbs and mild garlic.

Mains: Moving on to the mains, I started with the Roasted Iberico pork jowl. The tenderness of the pork was extraordinary, with the herbs and raspberries adding a lovely contrast, complemented by the slightly tart hibiscus sauce. The Grilled Wagyu beef sirloin was cooked exactly to my preference—succulent and flavorful—with the roasted sweet corn and bordelaise sauce providing the ideal accompaniments to the rich, buttery beef.

Desserts: The meal ended on a high note with two beautifully crafted desserts. The Bavarois of Earl Grey, coated in almond powder, was delicate yet rich in flavor, with the perfect hint of tea to cleanse the palate. The Fine apple tart “aux dragées” was a standout—thinly sliced apples with just the right amount of sweetness, paired with the indulgent Havana rum raisin ice-cream, making it the ideal close to the meal.

Conclusion: Overall, dining at Gunther's was an exceptional experience. Each course was executed with precision and flair, showcasing not only the quality of ingredients but the kitchen’s expertise in flavor pairing. I’d highly recommend Gunther's to anyone seeking a top-tier French dining experience in Singapore.

I recently visited Hong Kong Cha Kee and tried their ice milk tea, satay beef with macaroni, and mango pomelo sago.

Ice Milk Tea
The ice milk tea was refreshing and had a good balance of creamy milk and strong tea. It wasn’t too sweet and made a great start to the meal.

Satay Beef with Macaroni
The satay beef with macaroni was comforting and tasty. The beef was tender, and the satay sauce added a nice kick. The macaroni was cooked just right, making it a satisfying dish.

Mango Pomelo Sago
For dessert, the mango pomelo sago was light and refreshing. The mango was sweet, the pomelo added a slight bitterness, and the sago was creamy. It was a great way to finish the meal.

Overall, Hong Kong Cha Kee offers simple, tasty dishes that are worth trying.

I recently visited Zhup Zhup in Singapore and tried their prawn noodles with pork slices and prawns, seafood pao fan, and ngoh hiang platter.

Prawn Noodles with Pork Slices and Prawns
The prawn noodles were a standout dish. The broth was rich and flavorful, packed with the essence of prawns, making each sip incredibly satisfying. The prawns were fresh and tender, while the pork slices added a nice meaty texture. The noodles soaked up the broth well, tying everything together beautifully.

Seafood Pao Fan
The seafood pao fan was another highlight. The dish featured a comforting bowl of rice soaked in a savory seafood broth, topped with a generous mix of prawns, fish, and other seafood. The broth was light yet flavorful, and the crispy rice added an interesting texture, making every bite enjoyable.

Ngoh Hiang Platter
The ngoh hiang platter offered a variety of well-seasoned, crispy delights. Each piece was packed with a savory mix of meat and spices, with a perfectly crunchy exterior. It was a great starter that set the tone for the rest of the meal.

Zhup Zhup delivers hearty and satisfying dishes with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Whether you're a fan of prawn noodles, pao fan, or traditional ngoh hiang, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Stepping into Meat N Chill, I was immediately enveloped by a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that promised good vibes and even better food. My dining experience was nothing short of a culinary joyride, with each dish offering a burst of flavor and a comforting touch.

I kicked things off with the Spam Fries—an indulgent starter that was impossible to resist. Crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned, each fry had the right balance of salty goodness and a nostalgic kick that took me back to simpler times. It's the kind of snack that sets the tone for a fun, relaxed meal.

Next up was the Truffle Mac N Cheese, a dish that truly stole the show. Imagine the creamy decadence of mac n cheese taken to new heights by the intoxicating aroma of truffle. Every bite was a luxurious blend of rich, gooey cheese and that unmistakable truffle essence, making it impossible not to savor each mouthful.

The star of the evening was undoubtedly the Steak with Sautéed Mushrooms and Fries. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The sautéed mushrooms added a delightful earthiness that paired beautifully with the steak, while the fries—crisp and golden—were the ideal accompaniment, soaking up the delicious juices with every bite.

Meat N Chill is a spot that knows how to do comfort food right. From the first bite to the last, each dish was a testament to their dedication to flavor and quality. Whether you're in the mood for a laid-back meal with friends or a satisfying solo feast, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back for more!
