Not sure is the store named Kung Fu Fish or Fat Cat Grilled Fish 肥猫烤鱼 as on the stamp card (collect 12 stamps for a free Half fish set).
Mala flavour 麻辣 口味, set comes with rice and Chuka wakame (seasoned sesame seaweed salad) ちゅかわかめ which is surprising for a Chinese 烤鱼 store.
Add $1 for sides (like Black fungus)
Add $0.80 to takeaway.
Very fragrant mala sauce made complex by the spices used.
The chicken chop is their classic salted one however it was abit dry. The portion is absolutely mad tho, where did they even find such a huge chicken. Chili was solid as always, very similar to putien's
The noodles were pretty tasteless ngl but somehow with the flavourful mince and the great lard it was decent.
Overall a good bowl considering u get to try their noods and ckn at the same time, particularly with the huge portion
Good as always, their quality is consistent between branches. I never knew their mince was chicken, no wonder even tho it's decent I always felt it could have been more savoury.
Laksa broth is absolutely solid as always, it's worth the topup for sure
Be careful of what you pick. Enoki mushrooms are considered as meat and require additional $0.20. This is no where indicated on the signboard. Signages are confusing on the type of soup base they have. Counter staff is rude and inpatient to explain. A lot of improvement is needed. Soup base is not fantastic either, quite bland.
You can pick random skewers or get their sets - we went for the $5.80 set that lets you choose 3 meat skewers, 3 vegetables and a choice of noodle or rice. It’s still best to double check with the stall owners since it’s not stated clearly, e.g. a packet of enoki mushrooms is equivalent to a meat stick. After that, pick spicy or normal and you’re done! It wasn’t too spicy actually, but they have chilli and peppercorn pastes on the side for you to add on. Was a pretty comforting bowl except the ingredients were a little undercooked, felt like something you can go for if you’re craving for ma la but also want to be healthy 😂

First time trying this:)
Assorted vegetables and meat with a kick of mala spice, went well with white rice
Something different from the usual hawker fare at the kopitiams and foodfares we see around :)
