Cosy and welcoming. We had a bad experience at Frieda, right across this place, so we asked them to accommodate us last minute. Katachi staff was polite and gave us a nice table of choice.
The set lunches are perfect for a light lunch. Value for money considering the location.Cod Fish was well cooked, sides were flavorful. They even gave us a free cheesecake slice if we posted any of their food photo on Instagram.
They had a beer promotion and oysters promo. Perfect. 5 stars.
We spent $80 for 2 with drinks.
Nice, cozy restaurant serving authentic Japanese food. The staff were very friendly and nice!
The 8 pcs sushi was fresh and side dishes were delicious, and very value for money with the lunch set ($38)!! Also ordered the cod lunch set (no picture) - absolutely delicious, must try!
But waiting time for food is a bit long…
Bara Chirashi Don (S$28++)
Served with salad, appetizer, chawanmushi, pickles and soup
Available at @katachisg in @capitolsingapore
A bad start when the staffs insist that they did not accept Capitol vouchers which was showed otherwise in the mall website.
Saw a 1-4-1 promo for this, and hence decided to try it. However, it was pretty meh. Nothing really impressed - the rice, although different from what u get at Chinese restaurants, was hardly pearly enough to be considered Japanese rice; the unagi was decent but it had some small bones in it, and it would have been alright if haven’t tried man man before (man man wins hands down); the dashi broth was decent too but nothing to shout about. Not to say that this meal was bad, but if they’re going to charge $38 (full price) I think the food should have been of a better standard. The place was rather filled tho, so maybe their other menu items are better? I guess I’ll never know, because I’m unlikely to make a return visit.
Pretty new sushi place. Pleasantly surprised with their quality, price and quantity of food. Tried Chirashi, Soba, Yuzu Salmon Don and Ebi Tempura. Good find
Managed to catch the happy hour promotion. Oysters (raw in ponzu) are fresh! Definitely would recommend. Prawns are decent, fish selection is not bad. The mamager is very friendly!
