Amidst PJ's many banana leaf rice restaurants, Kanna Curry House holds its own with a favoured reputation. The restaurant's ample seatings — be it in the air-conditioned indoors or the leafy open-air area — add to its allure, especially for big groups. A default Banana Leaf Rice Set (RM6.90) comes with three vegetables of the day, your fill of curries (get the chicken!) as well as some papadam to boot. No meal here is complete without a side of their famous Fried Chicken (RM6.30), a massive batter-free chicken leg marinated to juicy perfection. To share, order the Squid (RM14.90), which is deep-fried upon order along streaks of sweet onion. Kanna's food are known to come with a rather hefty price tag, but the sizeable portions and spot-on flavours are well worth paying for. Burppler Shan Kow offers a pro saving tip for carnivores: "If you don't eat vegetables, order the plain rice set with curries for RM2.90."
Avg price per person: RM15

If you don't eat vegetables, an alternative would be ordering the plain rice set (RM 2.70) which comes without any of their vegetables.

The conventional banana leaf was replaced with green coloured wax paper shaped like a big leaf. The banana leaf was fine on its own and the vegetables and rice could be refilled.

To share, the 5 of us also ordered a small plate of Chicken Varuval (RM 6.30), a medium size plate of Fried Sotong (RM 14.90), Fried Tenggiri Fish (RM 6.30) and Fried Chicken (RM 6.30) which was charged by piece but they were quite sizable.

The service on the day was quite slow but there was a notice stating that they were short staffed at the moment.

The environment was quite clean and the floors were dry unlike some other places I've been to which always had wet floors and excess food scraps in the floors.

One of the famous BLR places in Klang valley and PJ. I had my Indian food and also my first BLR after so long. My last BLR was when I was four!! How little was I and I didn't know how to enjoy then. Now I do! I had a great lunch here. Their mutton is delicious. Do order their add ons like fried chicken or fish, calamari, mutton etc. But it comes with extra cost. Anyway, their basic rice is delicious anyway! The curry is the bomb. I like their condiments too! Ahh.. I'm craving for a "banjir"/flooded with curry banana leaf rice as I speak.

..without the real banana leaf. Ok food and on the pricey side. Why bother making the food mat green if you are not using real banana leaf?!

Wuhooo!! BANANA LEAF RICE! Look at all the curries!!! OMFG!! #bananaleafrice #curry
