Ayam buah keluak set meal for $15, comes with chap chye, bakwan kepiting and sambal egg. A bit pricy but quality is good and portion size decent.
The set comes with a vegetable which we have chosen Chap Chye, Bakwan soup, egg sambal and rice. Super worth it!
The Nyonya Braised Pork is not very oily, meat was super tender and the gravy was perfect for the rice. The Chap Chye is sweet, the soup was tasty, delicious with handmade meatballs.
Steaming bowl of spicy, aromatic broth with thick rice noodles. Comes with prawns and egg. Rich coconut-based soup which also has lemongrass, turmeric lays the foundation for the noodles with crunchy cucumber slices.
Loving this flavourful Nyonya Assam Babi (tender pork braised in sour-ish tamarind gravy) set. With sides of yummy bakwan soup and crunchy chap chye.
(S$13.90+)
I always have fond memories of Ivins, with it's rich homecooked nyonya flavours and reasonable prices. This Ivins branch takes an unassuming corner in Thomson Plaza and offers a more condensed menu compared to other Ivins branches, but the flavours remain the same.
Assam Babi (tamarind flavoured pork), Bakwan soup (meatball in clear broth with coriander) and chap chye (cabbage cooked soft) together with rice and egg for $13.90 was enough for the two of us, post a run. Love their soups.
