Maki is the best because you can really zhng it. The flavours are then multi-layered, like in this case. What's not to like? It's an ebi roll topped with spicy salmon flakes, mayo and tobiko, then dressed with tenkasu.

It's okay. It does have a good variety of vegetables.

Promo item, very cheap, but maybe because it's lower quality? I found it fine.

An attractive idea. Although the beef was good quality, it's not the best sushi, partly because beef eaten this way is never enough. They specially mention the garlic but it's not even crispy zzz.

The former was generous with the lobster topping. Pass. The latter I tried for fun and it was kinda weird. Cheese and tobiko don't really go together. Interestingly the cheese actually overwhelmed the tobiko.

The scallop in this was chewy and fresh. The cod liver was smooth and creamy. Sushi here is pretty good at reasonable prices.

Be prepared to queue to get in - this is a popular sushi spot!

This place does Aburi sushi right! Other dishes are pretty average similar to other Jap restaurants but the quality of sushi here is great!

Itacho Sushi had their Ikura Festival recently, serving two versions of their Ikura Don at 60% off.

I managed to try their Salmon & Roe Giant Mini Rice (S$11.90) on the last day of their promotion today. Featuring sushi rice buried under some raw salmon and a sea of salmon roe, the mini rice bowl was bursting with umami to a point where I wished I had more rice to pair with the Ikura. However, this was how exactly the Ikura Don should taste like.

Of course, in the absence of overflowing roe and the enthusiastic shouting of โ€œOisa-!โ€, the atmosphere lacked the element of drama that would come with the โ€œfestivalโ€. Still, it was a good to have alongside the array of Sushi, Gunkan and other Tabemono that is familiar to the diners here. And the complimentary hot green tea did its job in cleansing the palate after emptying this bowl.

SWIPE for the 2 most amazing highlights of the meal!!! @itachosushisg: honestly my friend had been raving about Itacho so much so we decided to eat at Itacho since it was his birthday ๐Ÿฐ . I ordered the salmon mentaiko sushi (which IMO is a classic and should be relatively decent). However, I was disappointed by Itachoโ€™s version as the mentaiko was barely torched and there was sooo little mentaiko that I wanted to go back to @genkisushisg each time I took a bite ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚. I also ordered the soba which tasted normal (nothing to shout about but nothing to rave about either oops)

However, the meal was better towards the end as I decided to order the croquette, which was filled generously with a creamy mixture that tasted like clam chowder in a cream form (no kidding!!); it was crisp on the outside and so molten-y on the inside so I immediately fell in love ๐Ÿ˜ป. My last order for this meal was the tempura prawn roll and this was the BEST thing ever!!! It looks unassuming but everything complemented one another well and the crunchiness of the tempura adds another dimension to the sushi base ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Overall, Iโ€™d give Itacho a 6/10 for the mentaiko sushi, soba and the price of its food, but Iโ€™ll raise it to maybe a 7.5 for the croquette and prawn roll ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ™Š

Salmon sushi ($0.90++ or $0.60++ each)

Limited to 2 sushis for each person. $0.90++ for the one with Mentaiko. Very worth it!

Scallop With Spicy Salmon Mayo Rice ($8.50++)

On promo.
Scallops were nice. Goes well with the spicy salmon mayo and rice. Amount is quite little. But quite worth it at this price.

As a new sashimi convert, Iโ€™m not able to stomach as many slices of raw fish compared to other enthusiasts out there. But Itacho was an exemption!

I trusted my friend to take charge of the menu and order what he thought Iโ€™d like, and this was what we had...
1) swordfish nigiri
2) smoked duck breast potato gratin (special @ $9) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
3) lobster salad salmon maki
4) mentaiko & soya sauce salmon nigiri (autumn special @ $0.90) ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
5) soya sauce salmon nigiri (autumn special @ $0.60)
6) fatty salmon sashimi ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
7) cheese roe gunkan maki ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The total bill came up to $50 for 2, with free tea and handtowels bc we spent over $10 per pax.

The seafood was fresh and I never enjoyed sushi as much as I did here. Will definitely be returning!

Tuna meat was cooked with broth. I would say this may not be suitable for everyoneโ€™s palate as it does have some acquired taste. But personally i love this!

Avocado wrapped around the sushi roll and topped with aburi salmon. The crispy lotus in between the salmon and sushi roll give another layer crispiness to the palate.

Nice and tender beef cube with truffle aroma, served in a hot plate.

I love itacho Sushi for their fresh tasting and pocket friendly sushi and sushi rolls .

Featuring the torched salmon roll here with tamago and then sprinkled very generously with flour crispies and a dash of spring onion for that extra zing .

At 9.90 , this presents extreme value for its portion, freshness and execution .

Aburi Japanese Jack Mackerel $3.50 | Striped Jack $3.80 | Japanese Flounder $3.30 | Japanese Flounder Dorsal $4 | Fatty Yellow Tail $3.20

Food standard dropped.

This was the only curry rice that is worth eating in their menu. Other then that, guess Iโ€™ll just stick to what they do best.. sushi.

the tamago wasnโ€™t overly sweet as w most places as well which made it all the more enjoyable for me and i rly appreciated the slight stickiness of typical sushi rice which still managed to retain some form of fluffiness. overall a bowl w varying textures and flavours which was super satisfying and defo worth the $12.80 ๐Ÿคค

$5.80 (original $9.70) for this delicious snow crab meat in a little sourish sauce. I love the crab miso and how sweet the crab meat was. But portion pretty small
